Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. This is so confusing and the NYS Department of Labor phone lines are impossible to get through to! I've been trying to call for weeks about a similar situation but just get busy signals or hung up on after waiting forever. There has to be a better way to reach someone who actually knows these rules.

Companies do this all the time to try to get out of paying into the unemployment fund. It's disgusting how they'll lie about good employees just to save a few bucks on their taxes. The whole system is rigged against workers and NYS Department of Labor doesn't make it any easier with their impossible phone system.
so true, my employer tried to claim I quit voluntarily when I had been asking about severance packages for weeks before they finally laid me off

i thought there was still some federal money involved but yeah everything goes through your state. in ny thats nys department of labor obviously

•Yeah they do charge but it was worth it to actually talk to someone at NYS Department of Labor instead of being on hold for hours or getting hung up on. Way less stressful than trying to get through on my own.

The system is so confusing about who qualifies and who doesn't. I swear they make it complicated on purpose to discourage people from applying. But definitely file your claim - the worst they can say is no, and you might be pleasantly surprised.
