Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!! They expect you to live on $500/week when rent alone is $1200. Meanwhile politicians get their full salaries. Makes me sick how they treat working people in this state.
I feel your frustration but focusing on available programs is more helpful right now
Have you looked into the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act programs? They sometimes offer income support during training for in-demand careers. Also check if your county has any emergency assistance programs for displaced workers.
I'll call my county social services office tomorrow. Didn't know they might have programs for displaced workers specifically.
