If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One thing no one mentioned - you should also file for SNAP benefits (food assistance) at the same time if your income has dropped significantly. Many people qualify during unemployment but don't realize it. The application can be done online through NY's myBenefits website and it's completely separate from unemployment.

That's good to know, thanks. Hopefully won't be unemployed long enough to need it, but definitely worth keeping in mind depending how long the job search takes.

Make sure when you certify weekly you're answering EXACTLY correctly or they'll flag your account for review and freeze payments! Be hyper-literal with their questions. If you did ANY work, even an hour, report it. If you were 'unavailable' for work any day (like had a doctor's appointment) they count that too. The system is designed to catch people in tiny inconsistencies!

Thank you - I'll be super careful with the weekly certifications. Definitely don't want payments delayed over a misunderstanding.

Just a thought - have you checked if your May certifications might be visible on your payment history page but just not processed yet? Sometimes they show up there in a "pending" status even when reps say they don't exist. The NYSDOL website is so poorly designed that different screens show different information. Also, did they give you any specific reason WHY the May claim "doesn't exist anymore"? Did someone cancel it? Did it expire? Was it rejected for some reason? Without an actual explanation, they're just giving you the runaround, and you deserve better than that!

I checked the payment history page and there's absolutely nothing for May there - not even pending status. The rep couldn't (or wouldn't) give me any specific reason why the claim doesn't exist. She just kept saying there's no record of it in her system and that I should "send a message through the portal." When I told her about my previous conversation with another rep who confirmed it existed, she just said "well I don't see anything here" and basically dismissed me. It was incredibly frustrating!

Based on all the information in this thread, it sounds like you're dealing with a system error rather than an eligibility issue. Your best course of action is to: 1. Try to reach a Tier 2 specialist who can access the audit log as mentioned 2. Submit the TC-403.1 form as formal documentation of the issue 3. Continue weekly certifications even for past weeks if the system allows it 4. Request a formal determination letter that you can appeal if necessary The good news is that if you're entitled to these benefits, you will eventually receive them - including back pay for May. The bad news is that it may take persistent effort on your part. Don't give up! Document every contact attempt, follow up regularly, and be prepared to appeal if necessary.

Thank you for laying out these clear steps. I'm going to follow your advice starting tomorrow morning. Will update this thread if/when I get resolution. Fingers crossed!

did u try calling from a different phone? my friend said sometimes ur number gets flagged as spam if u call too many times and they auto-reject it. tried from my mom's phone and got thru after like 30 tries instead of never

Wait really?? That's a good idea, I've been calling from the same cell phone every time. I'll try using my roommate's phone tomorrow. At this point I'll try ANYTHING to get this resolved. Thanks for the tip!

Just wanted to check in - were you able to get this resolved? If you're still having trouble, make sure you're using the right number: 1-888-209-8124 for regular UI claims. Also, once you do get through, ask them to put a note on your account about the payment delay so there's a record of your attempt to resolve it.

I actually got through yesterday! Used my assembly person's office like someone suggested AND tried calling from a different phone. Finally reached someone who told me there was an "account review flag" on my claim that nobody bothered to tell me about! They said payments should resume within 72 hours. I'm cautiously optimistic but won't believe it until I see the money. Thanks everyone for the help - this forum was more useful than the actual DOL website!

Back in 2023 I never got my 1099-G in the mail for some reason but it was in my online account the whole time! Check there first. Also make sure you're looking in the right section - it's not super obvious where they put it. Go to Unemployment Services and look for "1099-G Tax Forms" in the menu. Took me forever to find it the first time.

UPDATE: Mine just appeared in my online account! For anyone still waiting, definitely keep checking your NY.gov account. Under Unemployment Services there's a section specifically for tax forms. I never got an email notification that it was ready, just happened to check and it's there now. Thanks everyone for your help!

my brother just went thru this whole mess and it turned out the employer reported his wages for the wrong quarter which is what triggered the whole overpayment thing. make sure your friend checks what quarters they're claiming he was overpaid for and compare with his actual work history

0 coins

This is exactly what happened to me!!! My employer reported all my May 2025 wages as if I earned them in April and it triggered an automatic overpayment notice!!! The system is so broken!!!

0 coins

One last important thing your friend should know: if the overpayment determination is upheld after fact-finding, he can still request a waiver of the overpayment if it would cause financial hardship AND the overpayment wasn't his fault. NY unemployment has become more lenient with these waivers since the 2025 policy updates. The waiver form asks for detailed financial information to demonstrate that repayment would cause significant hardship. Success rates for these waivers increased to about 65% this year, up from around 30% in previous years. Even if the overpayment is determined to be valid, there are still options available to him.

That's very good to know about the waiver option. I'll make sure he's aware of this as a backup plan. Thank you again for all the detailed information!
