Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Just a heads up, there's been some system maintenance and updates going on recently. My friend's backpay randomly appeared after 4 months of nothing, and customer service said it was because they finally finished updating some old claims after a system update.

whatever you do DON'T file a new claim thinking it will help! this will only complicate things further. stick with following up on your existing claim for the backpay.

Been there done that got the t-shirt. I spent 7 MONTHS fighting with ny unemployment over a similar issue. Got told different things by different reps every time I called. Finally just filed a new claim altogether when a new quarter started. The whole system is a joke.

Try reaching out on Twitter too. Sounds weird but I @ mentioned NYSDOL in a tweet about my backdating issue and someone from their social media team actually helped escalate my case. Worth a shot if everything else fails.

there's a backdoor phone number that sometimes works better than the main line: [redacted]. I got through in 45 mins last week.
pretty sure they deactivated that one, I tried it yesterday and it just looped back to the main menu

After you talked to someone from DOL, check your spam/junk email folders daily! I missed an important email from them asking for additional documents because it went to spam. Almost lost my whole claim because of that.

Im sorry this happened to you. The waiting period is insane when you need the money now! One thing that helped me was getting a live person on the phone using claimyr.com - once I explained my situation was urgent due to possible eviction, they flagged my case as priority. Still took a few weeks, but better than months.
Thanks, I'll check out that service. At this point I'd try anything to speed things up.

Called the IRS yesterday (took 3 attempts but finally got through). They told me my unemployment tax refund was processed on July 6th but could take 2-5 weeks to actually get deposited. Totally ridiculous system.
