If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

If you're having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to get more details about how the system works, I used claimyr.com recently and it was actually helpful. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was stuck trying to get through to an agent for days about my claim status and this service got me connected in under an hour.

interesting, never heard of that service before but calling NYS Department of Labor is definitely a nightmare

The whole unemployment system is basically employer-funded social insurance. They pay taxes whether anyone files claims or not, just like how you pay car insurance premiums even if you never have an accident. The state pools all those tax payments and uses them to pay benefits when people become unemployed.

The system is so confusing! They want you to be disabled enough to get disability but not too disabled to work for unemployment. Makes no sense. I've been dealing with this bureaucratic mess for months and nobody can give me a straight answer about anything.

I feel your frustration but there is logic to it. Disability benefits are for when you can't work, unemployment is for when you're able to work but can't find a job. The issue comes up when someone has a partial disability that limits but doesn't eliminate their work capacity.

Just want to add that if you do qualify for both, you'll need to report your disability payments when you file your weekly unemployment claims. NYS Department of Labor needs to know about all income sources.

honestly the whole system is messed up... you shouldnt have to jump through hoops to prove your income when youre already dealing with being unemployed. landlords act like unemployment makes you a bad tenant when really it shows you know how to work the system and get benefits you earned

Just be upfront about it! I put down my unemployment income on applications and most places were fine with it as long as I could show consistent payments from NYS Department of Labor and that I was meeting my job search requirements.

This whole situation sounds fishy to me. No legitimate employer pays someone $3 for ANY amount of work. You definitely got scammed and should pursue that wage complaint. Also check if you worked anywhere else during your base period - even small amounts from multiple jobs can add up to meet the minimum requirements.

same thing happened to my cousin but with a different amount, the unemployment office basically laughed at him when he tried to file with such low wages

ugh the whole contractor vs employee thing is so confusing!! I never know if im supposed to be getting benefits or not. seems like companies just call everyone contractors to avoid paying for stuff

From what I understand, NYS Department of Labor looks at factors like whether you set your own schedule, use your own tools, have other clients, etc. If the company controlled most aspects of your work, you might have been misclassified. Definitely worth applying and letting them make the determination.

Exactly this. The key is who had control over the work. If they told you when to work, how to do the job, and provided equipment, that sounds more like an employee relationship to me.
