If you're still having trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor by phone to verify your calculation, I had success using a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get through to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. Really helped when I needed to discuss my benefit determination with someone.
The whole NYS Department of Labor system is so confusing! Why can't they just make the charts clearer instead of having people think they're getting more money than they actually qualify for?? It's stressful enough being unemployed without having to decode their paperwork.
I had trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor about my appeal status for weeks. Kept getting busy signals or hung up on after waiting an hour. Finally found this service called Claimyr that calls for you and gets you connected to an actual agent. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Saved me so much frustration trying to get through on my own.
THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!!! They make it impossible to reach anyone and then deny valid claims. I've been fighting with NYS Department of Labor for months over an overpayment that isn't even my fault. They need to completely overhaul this mess.
If you're having trouble getting through to NYS Department of Labor to check on your claim status, I had success using Claimyr (claimyr.com) to get connected to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was stuck waiting for 3 weeks with no updates and got answers within a day of using their service.
The timing really depends on whether your claim goes into adjudication or not. If NYS Department of Labor needs to verify anything about your employment history or reason for separation, it can add several weeks to the process. Most straightforward claims process within 2-3 weeks though.

I had this same confusion last month! I was calling the NYS Department of Labor number constantly trying to get through to someone who could explain what distributed meant. After hours of busy signals and getting hung up on, I found this service called Claimyr at claimyr.com that actually got me through to a real person at NYS Department of Labor in like 10 minutes. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. The agent confirmed that distributed means the payment is on its way and helped me understand my whole payment timeline.

•Interesting, never heard of that before. The phone lines are definitely impossible to get through to.

DISTRIBUTED is such a confusing term! Why can't they just say PAYMENT SENT or something normal people understand?? The whole NYS Department of Labor system is designed to confuse us I swear
