If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Just wanted to add that even if your employer doesn't respond at all, NYS Department of Labor will still process your claim. They don't hold it up indefinitely waiting for employer input. I think the 10 business day rule is pretty standard but there can always be delays in the system.

Just keep filing your weekly claims even while it's pending! That's important.

Yes I've been doing that, thanks for the reminder!

I've been dealing with NYS Department of Labor for months trying to get through to someone about my claim status and it's been impossible. The phone system is a nightmare. I finally found this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that actually gets you connected to real agents. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Saved me hours of calling and getting hung up on.

How much does that cost though? I'm already broke from being unemployed

It's worth checking out their site for details, but honestly after weeks of getting nowhere with the regular phone system it was a lifesaver. Sometimes you just need to talk to an actual person at NYS Department of Labor.

Just to add - the amount you can get in benefits is based on your earnings history, not how much your employer paid in taxes. NYS Department of Labor looks at your wages from the past year to calculate your weekly benefit amount. Max is around $504 per week right now I think.

Wait I thought unemployment was just measured by how many people are out of work? Are you talking about something different??

0 coins

That's the unemployment rate for economic statistics. OP is asking about how NYS Department of Labor measures individual benefit eligibility and amounts for UI claims.

The whole system is broken tbh. They measure everything except how long it takes them to actually process claims! Been waiting 3 weeks myself

ugh the whole system is so confusing, they make it impossible to understand on purpose i swear. when i got laid off i spent hours on their website trying to figure out what forms to fill out

Same thing happened to me in 2023 - company said 'temporary reduction in workforce' but it ended up being permanent. I filed for regular UI and it worked out fine. Even if they do call you back, you can always stop claiming benefits at that point.

If you're having trouble reaching someone at the IRS about payment options, I recently discovered this service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helps people get through to government agencies when the phone lines are always busy. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. I used it to finally talk to someone at NYS Department of Labor about my claim issues, but I think they work with other agencies too.

Never heard of that but honestly anything that helps with getting through government phone systems sounds worth trying.

wait im confused, i thought unemployment wasn't taxable?? i never paid taxes on mine

0 coins

Unemployment benefits are definitely taxable income at the federal level. There was a special exemption for part of 2020 unemployment due to COVID but that's long over. You should probably check if you need to file amended returns for any years you didn't report UI benefits.

oh no... i received benefits for like 6 months last year and never reported any of it
