Month 2 of trying to contact my EDD case worker. At this point the stress is worse than the actual issue I need to resolve.
Reality check: Most people need 20-100 redial attempts just to get on hold, then 1.5-2+ hour waits, then 30-50% chance of dropped calls. System is broken.
Those statistics are depressing but match my experience exactly. No wonder people are paying for calling services.
Exactly why I switched to Claimyr after my third week of failed attempts. Sometimes you have to admit defeat and find another way.
Update: Just got off the phone after finally speaking to live person! Took 4 hours of calling today but they resolved my issue in 15 minutes. The actual help is quick once you get through.
For anyone still struggling - I used the Claimyr service mentioned earlier and spoke to live person in 18 minutes yesterday. My claim got resolved same day. Sometimes you just have to accept that manual calling isn't working.
I think I'm ready to try that. 6 hours yesterday and still couldn't speak to live person. My time is worth something too.
Same here. After reading this thread I realize I'm not alone in the struggle to speak to live person. Going to check out claimyr.com today.
Reality check: The EDD support number is intentionally difficult to reach. They're overwhelmed and understaffed. If you absolutely need to talk to someone, either dedicate your entire day to calling or use an automated service. There's no magic shortcut.
Last week I finally connected through the EDD support number after 89 attempts over 4 days. Agent was super helpful and resolved my issue in 10 minutes. The irony is that the actual help is great - it's just impossible to reach them.
Word of advice: make sure your phone is fully charged before starting a calling marathon. Nothing worse than your battery dying right when you finally get on hold. Learned this the hard way.
Final update from my experience: After 3 weeks of manual calling with zero success, I used Claimyr on Thursday and had my issue resolved by Friday afternoon. Sometimes you just have to admit when a system is broken and find a workaround that actually works.
This thread has convinced me. Placing my Claimyr order now. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences - saved me weeks of frustration.

Reality check: I spent 40+ hours last month just trying to reach EDD. That's like having a part-time job just to talk to them about my unemployment. Something is seriously wrong with this system.

•40 hours is insane but sadly believable. I've probably spent 25+ hours myself over 3 weeks. This can't be sustainable.

•Right? And that's not counting the actual time spent on hold or talking to them. Just the redialing attempts. It's broken.

Final update from the San Jose crew: Used Claimyr this morning after reading all these comments. Got my callback in 15 minutes with an agent who fixed my claim issue in 10 minutes. Seriously wish I'd done this weeks ago instead of the manual calling torture.

•Do it! I was stubborn about paying but honestly the time savings alone is worth way more than what it costs. Best decision I made.
