Remember EDD is only open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Pacific Time. Don't waste time calling on weekends or evenings like I did when I first started.
One last piece of advice - when you do get through, have all your information ready: SSN, claim details, questions written down. Don't waste the opportunity by being unprepared after waiting so long to talk to someone.
For anyone still trying manually: keep a detailed log of your attempts. Note the time, how many calls, whether you got busy signal or hold, etc. You'll start to see patterns in when your odds are slightly better.
The hold music cuts out sometimes which makes you think the call dropped, but stay on the line. I've had agents pick up after 15-20 seconds of silence.
For those still trying manually: the customer service EDD number menu is 1-wait 70 seconds-1-1-***. Don't rush the wait time or you'll get disconnected.
The customer service EDD number drops about 40% of calls even when you make it to hold. I've been dropped 6 times after 1+ hour holds this month alone.
Reality check: if you've been calling for hours with no success, maybe it's time to consider alternatives. I know people who have called for weeks without getting through.
This is why services like Claimyr exist. Sometimes you just have to accept that manual calling isn't realistic anymore.
The EDD phone number is open and operational right now. The challenge isn't system availability - it's the massive imbalance between call volume and agent capacity. That's not changing anytime soon.

Final tip: If you do get through to the main EDD line, don't ask to be transferred to Sacramento specifically. They'll just tell you that all agents handle all regions now.

•Yeah, it just wastes time and confuses the agent. Just explain your issue directly.

•Agreed. The agent I talked to said location doesn't matter anymore for phone support.

Been following this thread all day. Clear consensus: no Sacramento EDD phone number exists, main line is brutal, Claimyr seems to work for people willing to pay. That about sum it up?
