Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

For future reference, if you keep getting error x57 or any other Washington ESD system errors, document exactly what you were doing when it happened. Screenshot everything. It helps when you finally get through to customer service.

One last tip - if you're still having trouble, try filing your weekly claim at different times of day. The Washington ESD system seems to handle validation differently during peak vs off-peak hours.
Interesting observation. I've noticed some forms work better late at night.
Sunday mornings seem to be the most reliable time for me to file without errors.

The most important thing is to be completely honest on your application and weekly claims. Washington ESD takes fraud seriously, but as long as you're truthful about everything, you shouldn't have any problems as an IHSS worker.

Just wanted to add - don't forget about the one-week waiting period for regular unemployment benefits. You won't get paid for your first week of unemployment, even if you're approved immediately.

Yeah, it's been that way for years. It's just how the system works. Plan accordingly because that first payment might not come for 3-4 weeks after you file.

The waiting game is brutal but try not to panic. In my experience, once Washington ESD starts paying, they usually catch up all the back weeks you're owed in one lump sum. So you'll get everything you're entitled to, just not on the schedule you need it.
