Update for anyone following this thread - if you do need to contact Washington ESD about misclassification or any other complex issues, I can't recommend Claimyr enough. Used them again yesterday to check on a different claim issue and got through to an agent in under 10 minutes instead of spending my whole day on hold.
Final thought - even if your investigation takes a while, don't get discouraged. Washington ESD is pretty thorough about these determinations and if you were truly misclassified, they'll figure it out. The system actually works when you give it the chance.
just remember to be patient with the whole process. sometimes it takes a few weeks to get everything sorted out especially if they need to verify your employment or if there are any issues with your claim
Based on everything you've described, you should definitely qualify for unemployment benefits. The key is filing accurately and completely, then staying on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements. Washington's unemployment system is generally pretty good once you get into the routine.
Hang in there OP. The first few weeks are the hardest but once you get that first payment it's a huge relief. You'll get through this.
Update us when you hear something! Always curious to hear how long people's claims take to process. And seriously, if you need to talk to ESD before then, check out Claimyr. That service saved my sanity.
File online at the Washington ESD website - it's much faster than calling. You can create your account and file your initial claim right from home.
Good luck with your claim! Getting fired sucks but at least Washington state has a decent unemployment system. You should be able to get some financial support while you find your next job.

Following this thread because I'm in the exact same situation. Filed Jan 8th and still waiting. At least I know I'm not alone in this.

Update: I tried Claimyr this morning and got through to a Washington ESD agent in about 20 minutes. Found out my claim was actually approved last week but there was a system glitch preventing the payment from processing. The agent fixed it on the spot and said I should see payment within 2-3 business days. Definitely worth trying if you're stuck waiting.

•Glad it worked out for you. These system glitches seem to be pretty common unfortunately.
