Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Sorry you're going through this! The uncertainty is the worst part. But based on what you've described, you should definitely qualify for benefits. File ASAP and try not to stress too much about it.

Bottom line: expect 3-4 weeks for a typical claim, keep filing weekly, and try not to panic if it takes the full month. The system is slow but it does work eventually.

One last thing - if you do end up needing to contact Washington ESD for any reason during the process, early morning (like 8 AM) seems to be the best time to try calling. Still hard to get through but slightly better odds.

Been on unemployment twice in the past 5 years and the max benefit has definitely gone up each time. It's one of the few things that actually keeps pace with cost of living increases in Washington state.
That's good to hear! With how expensive everything has gotten, at least unemployment benefits are trying to keep up.
Yeah, though it's still tough to live on even with the maximum amount, especially in Seattle area. But it's better than what some other states offer for sure.

For anyone wondering, you can check your remaining benefit weeks by logging into your Washington ESD account online. It shows your weekly benefit amount, total benefit amount remaining, and how many weeks you have left.
