Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. You mentioned retail work - make sure you report any commission or tips you received in addition to your base wages. They need the full picture of your earnings to calculate your benefit amount correctly.
I didn't get commissions but there were small quarterly bonuses. Should I include those too?
Yes, include any bonuses or extra compensation. It all counts toward your wage history and could potentially increase your weekly benefit amount.

washington esd really needs to fix their phone system. it's 2025 and you still can't reliably reach someone during business hours. at least the online filing works most of the time
The online system has definitely improved over the past few years. I rarely have issues with the website anymore.

Remember that Washington State unemployment benefits are taxable income. You might want to elect to have taxes withheld from your payments to avoid a surprise tax bill next year.
Good point about taxes. Is that something I set up during the initial application or later?
You can set it up anytime through your online account. I'd recommend doing it early so you don't forget.

Just wanted to add - if you're working part-time in a different field than your usual work, make sure you're still applying for jobs in your regular field too. Washington ESD wants to see you're seeking work similar to your previous employment.
That makes sense. I'll make sure to keep applying for warehouse jobs even though I'm doing retail part-time now.
Yep, they want to see you're trying to get back to your career level, not just taking any job permanently.
Final thought - don't let fear stop you from working. The partial benefit system is designed to encourage people to take work when they can find it. As long as you're honest about your earnings and hours, you're doing everything right.
