Been following this thread and it's fascinating how sociology explains what we're all experiencing. Makes me feel less alone knowing this is a structural issue, not just bad luck with Washington ESD.
I had to contact Washington ESD about my tax withholding setup because it wasn't working properly. Used Claimyr to get through and the agent fixed it right away. Their customer service through the regular phone number is pretty much impossible to reach.
Good to know there's a way to actually reach someone when you need help. The regular phone system is a joke.
Yeah, Claimyr made it so much easier. Worth using when you actually need to talk to a real person at Washington ESD.
Thanks everyone for all this helpful information! I'm going to set up tax withholding on my next weekly claim and start setting aside some money from my previous payments. This thread probably saved me from a nasty surprise at tax time.
One more thing - if you move or change banks, update your info immediately. Payment delays due to wrong bank info are a nightmare to fix.
Thanks everyone, this has been really helpful! I feel much better knowing what to expect with the payment schedule.
And remember, if you ever need to reach Washington ESD for any reason, that Claimyr service is there if the regular phone lines aren't working out.
Welcome to the unemployment club nobody wants to join! At least Washington's benefits are decent compared to some other states.
Final reminder about that Claimyr service - definitely bookmark it just in case. When you're desperate to reach ESD and nothing else works, having that option available is a lifesaver.

If you do get stuck in adjudication or need to talk to Washington ESD about your specific situation, I had good luck with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Sometimes you just need to talk to a real person to get things sorted out properly.

•I'll keep that in mind if I run into issues. Hopefully the application process goes smoothly!

•Fingers crossed for you! Having that backup option is nice peace of mind though.

This whole discussion has been really eye-opening! I had no idea people with disabilities could get unemployment benefits. Learn something new every day on these forums.

•Same here! I almost didn't apply because I thought I'd be automatically disqualified.

•Yeah, there's a lot of misinformation out there. Good thing we have knowledgeable people here to set the record straight.
