If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Important reminder: even though your first week is the waiting week with no payment, you still need to file that weekly claim! Don't skip it thinking it doesn't matter.

Good point. I almost skipped my first week thinking why bother if I won't get paid.

0 coins

Exactly - you need to file every week to keep your claim active, even the waiting week.

The waiting week thing confused me too when I first filed. Once you understand it's automatic and you don't need to do anything special, it makes more sense. Just keep filing your weekly claims and the payments will start after that first week.

Yeah I've got it figured out now. Thanks to everyone who helped explain it!

This thread was helpful for me too. Good to see the community helping each other out.

Thanks everyone for the explanations. This helps me understand why my benefits haven't changed. Guess I'll just have to wait until my benefit year ends in August.

Same boat here. At least we know what's going on now instead of wondering.

0 coins

Yeah this thread was super helpful. Washington ESD really should explain this stuff better on their website.

One more thing - make sure you're prepared when your benefit year does end. You'll need recent pay stubs and employment info to file the new claim and get the updated benefit rate.

0 coins

Good point. I should start gathering that paperwork now instead of scrambling later.

One more thing to consider - if you do transition to unemployment, make sure you understand the work search requirements with your medical restrictions. You might need to register with WorkSourceWA and they can help with job placement accommodations.

0 coins

I hadn't heard of WorkSourceWA before. Is that something required for unemployment benefits?

0 coins

It's not always required but it can be helpful, especially if you have work restrictions. They have vocational rehabilitation services that might be relevant to your situation.

My advice? Talk to both your disability insurance company AND Washington ESD before making any moves. Get everything in writing so you have documentation of what you were told. That way if there are any questions later, you have proof you tried to do things correctly.

And if you can't get through to Washington ESD on the phone, that Claimyr thing someone mentioned earlier might be worth trying. I've heard good things about it from other people in similar situations.

Thanks everyone, this has been really helpful. I feel like I have a much clearer understanding of what I need to do now.

Does anyone know if they consider your education level when determining suitable work? Like if you have a degree, can you turn down jobs that don't require one?

0 coins

Education and experience are factors, but it depends on how long you've been unemployed. Early on, yes, they consider whether the job matches your qualifications.

0 coins

That makes sense. I have a bachelor's degree and was worried I'd have to take any minimum wage job immediately.

0 coins

Bottom line - document everything, be honest in your weekly claims, and don't stress too much about one job refusal if you have valid reasons.

0 coins

Thanks, that's good advice. I'm feeling much more confident about my decision now.

0 coins

Good! Trust your instincts about what works for your situation. The system is supposed to help you find suitable work, not force you into impossible situations.

Also remember that if you have trouble reaching Washington ESD customer service later (and you probably will based on my experience), there are services like Claimyr that can help you get through the phone queue when you really need to talk to someone.

0 coins

Several people have mentioned that service. Good to know it's an option if I get stuck.

0 coins

I was skeptical at first but it really does work. Beats spending hours on hold or getting disconnected.

0 coins

Final piece of advice - set up direct deposit when you apply. Much faster than waiting for checks in the mail.

0 coins

Great tip, I'll make sure to do that. Thanks again everyone for all the help!
