Small update - my claim finally got approved today! Took 3 weeks total but I got all the back payments. To everyone still waiting, hang in there. The delays are frustrating but Washington ESD does eventually process everything.
Just kept filing my weekly claims and waited. Though I did see several people mention that Claimyr service for getting through by phone faster.
The bottom line is that unemployment rises and falls based on economic cycles, but the benefit system should be designed to handle those fluctuations better. We shouldn't have to wait weeks longer just because more people need help.
If you run into any issues during the process and need to reach Washington ESD, definitely consider using Claimyr. The regular phone lines are swamped and you can waste entire days trying to get through. Their service connects you directly to ESD agents without the wait times.
You've got this! File tonight, be honest about everything, and don't stress too much. The vast majority of people fired for performance issues get approved for unemployment benefits in Washington. The system works.
I had to use Claimyr twice during my unemployment period - once when my claim got stuck in adjudication and once when I had questions about my job search requirements. Both times they got me through to someone who could actually help instead of just reading me the website info.
Yeah their demo video shows exactly how it works: https://youtu.be/7DieNd3C7zQ. Pretty straightforward.
Last thought - don't stress too much about the initial application. You can always provide additional information later if Washington ESD requests it during their investigation. The important thing is getting that claim date established.
UPDATE: Just wanted to let everyone know my payment showed up this morning (Thursday)! Thanks for all the advice and reassurance. Next week I'll file earlier on Sunday to hopefully get it by Tuesday or Wednesday.

The waiting is definitely the hardest part but it sounds like you're all set. Should see that money in your account by the end of the week!

Just wanted to add that Washington ESD usually sends an email notification when they process your payment, so keep an eye on your inbox too.

•No problem! Sometimes the email comes before the money actually hits your bank account.
