If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I think I read somewhere that if you don't qualify for regular unemployment you might be eligible for other programs with different benefit amounts. Worth looking into if your regular claim gets denied.

Yeah there's things like standby status for certain industries. The benefit calculation might be different for those programs.

0 coins

Bottom line is file as soon as you're eligible and don't wait. Benefits start from when you file, not when you lost your job. And if you need to talk to someone about your specific situation, that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier actually works for getting through their phone system.

Thanks everyone for the help! Going to file my claim this week and see what happens.

Has anyone dealt with partial unemployment while also being on standby status? My employer says I might be called back to full hours but it's been 8 weeks now.

0 coins

I'd definitely call ESD about that situation. 8 weeks seems like a long time for standby status.

0 coins

Good point, I'll reach out to them. Might use that Claimyr thing if I can't get through the regular way.

Final thought - partial unemployment isn't just about the money (though that helps). It also keeps your claim active so if you lose your remaining hours completely, you don't have to start over with a new application.

0 coins

That's a really good point I hadn't considered. Definitely applying now!

0 coins

Exactly! It's like insurance for your job situation. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

0 coins

Just apply! I spent weeks worried about whether I qualified and it turns out I was overthinking it. The worst thing that happens is they say no, but at least you'll know for sure. The application process itself will tell you if you meet the basic requirements.

0 coins

You're probably right. I keep second-guessing myself but I should just go for it.

0 coins

Exactly! And if you have questions during the process, that's when services like Claimyr can help you actually talk to someone at Washington ESD.

One last thing - make sure you apply as soon as possible after your hours were cut. There's no waiting period to apply, and your benefit year starts when you file, not when you became unemployed. Don't wait thinking you need to be completely unemployed first.

0 coins

I didn't know that! I thought I had to wait until I was completely laid off.

Nope! Reduced hours can qualify you for partial benefits. The sooner you apply, the sooner you can start getting help.

The system really needs reform. 26 weeks isn't enough in this job market, especially for older workers or people in specialized fields. Other states have longer benefit periods.

0 coins

Which states have longer benefits? Might be worth moving lol

0 coins

Montana and Massachusetts have 30 weeks I think. But you'd have to work there first to qualify for their benefits.

Final thought on getting help from ESD - seriously consider using Claimyr if you need to talk to someone about benefit duration, training programs, or anything complex. The regular phone system is broken and you'll waste hours trying to get through. I wish I'd known about it months ago.

0 coins

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I'll file my claim this week and see how it goes. Fingers crossed I find something before 26 weeks!

Good luck! The job market is tough but manufacturing skills are transferable to lots of industries.

I've been on partial benefits for 3 months now and it's been a lifesaver. Just stay on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements.

0 coins

That gives me hope! Sounds like it's manageable once you get into the routine.

0 coins

Exactly. The first few weeks are the hardest while you're figuring everything out, but then it becomes routine.

One last tip - set up direct deposit for your benefits. Paper checks take forever and can get lost in the mail.

0 coins

Definitely doing that. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! I feel so much better about this situation now.
