This is a good reminder for everyone that when your claim status changes unexpectedly, reaching an actual representative should be your top priority. System glitches happen fairly regularly with PA UC, especially with multiple separation situations. For anyone else in a similar situation, keep these points in mind: 1. Always document any changes to your employment status immediately 2. Continue filing weekly claims without interruption 3. If your status says "under review" for more than 2 weeks, be proactive about reaching a representative 4. Keep copies of all communications with employers regarding scheduling, hiring agreements, or separation 5. If possible, get something in writing from the employer about your separation reason Glad to hear you're making progress with your claim!
I wouldn't recommend contacting the restaurant manager directly at this point. Since you already have text messages documenting your availability conflicts, focus on those. Additional contact might just complicate things or even antagonize the employer. Let the UC process work now that you've completed the information request form. The texts you have should be sufficient evidence for your case.
@OP - regarding your question about using Claimyr - yes, I used it too when I couldn't get through to ask questions before my hearing. Worth it just to understand what documentation they needed me to bring. The UC rep I finally spoke with actually gave me some tips about how to organize my evidence for the referee.
If it is indeed a net vs. gross reporting issue, bring your pay stubs showing both numbers. Explain that you misunderstood the requirement but were not trying to defraud the system. The referee may find it was a non-fault overpayment, which means you'd still have to repay but without penalties and with the option of a reasonable payment plan. I've seen many cases like this work out okay for the claimant.
Update: I was able to reach someone at UC and you were right - they said I reported my net income instead of gross for 12 weeks of part-time work. The rep explained I'd still need to attend the hearing but should bring all my pay stubs showing both numbers. She said the referee often converts these to non-fault overpayments. Feeling less panicked now!
I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned above, and it actually worked! Got through to a UC rep who explained I need to submit both my 2021 tax forms (even though they're late) along with all my pay stubs from the base year. They're putting a note on my account and gave me a specific fax number to send everything to. What a relief to finally talk to someone!
Great news! Make sure to follow up in about 5-7 business days if you don't see any updates to your claim status online. Sometimes documents can get lost in the shuffle and a polite follow-up call can help keep things moving.
sometimes u gota wait like 3-4 business days after they say its coming. weekends dont count. happened to me to
After reading through this thread, it sounds like you have an unresolved issue with your claim that regular agents aren't seeing or aren't telling you about. Your best options are: 1. Contact your state representative's office as mentioned above 2. Use a service like Claimyr to get connected to a higher-tier agent who can see what's really happening 3. Request to speak to a claims examiner specifically (not just any agent) when you call 4. Check for any correspondence in your UC portal that might indicate an issue (sometimes they send notices that don't trigger email alerts) Don't wait for the promised payment that might never come - be proactive and escalate this now, especially with bills coming due.

•That's the UC-1599 Training Information form, but it doesn't need to be submitted weekly. It's typically only needed once when you start the program, and possibly again if your training end date changes. Weekly claims still need to be filed though.

Update: I talked to my WIOA counselor and she was super helpful! Turns out this happens all the time. She's giving me a letter confirming my training program is approved and helping me with the appeal. She also suggested I try calling UC directly to speed things up since sometimes they can fix it right away once they see you're in approved training. Will keep you all posted on what happens. Thanks for all the advice!
