If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I had trouble getting through to someone at NYS Department of Labor to clarify this exact question. Ended up using a service called Claimyr (claimyr.com) that helped me get connected to an actual agent. They have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI showing how it works. The agent explained the earnings rules way better than the website does.

How much does that service cost? Seems like you should be able to get this info for free.

I get that, but after spending hours on hold and getting hung up on multiple times, it was worth it to actually talk to someone who knew what they were talking about.

The system is so confusing! I've been doing gig work and some weeks I report $50, other weeks $200, and I never know what my benefit will be until I get the payment. Wish they made it clearer on the website.

EMPLOYERS DO THIS ALL THE TIME!! They think they can just lie and get away with it. Fight it hard because if you don't push back they'll keep doing it to other people. The whole system is rigged to favor businesses over workers.

same thing happened to my friend last year, turned out the HR person just checked the wrong box on the form and said misconduct instead of layoff. might be a simple mistake?

I hope that's all it is. Though it's weird they would make that mistake when I have the layoff paperwork they gave me.

Part time vs full time doesn't really matter for initial eligibility as long as you meet the wage requirements. What matters more is that you're able and available to work when you file your weekly claims. NYS Department of Labor will also require you to do job searches every week to maintain benefits.

good to know about the job search thing, ill keep that in mind if i ever need to file

just went through this myself actually, the whole base period calculation is weird but it worked out. just make sure you keep track of all your employers and wages because they'll ask for that info when you file

The whole system is a JOKE. They make you jump through hoops and then take forever to process anything. I waited 5 weeks just to get told I needed to provide more documentation that they never even asked for initially. Meanwhile bills are piling up and they act like it's no big deal.

I feel you on this. The stress of not knowing is almost worse than being denied.

Keep checking your my.ny.gov account daily and make sure your contact info is updated. Sometimes they send important notices that you might miss. Also double check that you're filing your weekly claims correctly - if you miss even one week it can mess up your whole claim timeline.

The unemployment system in this state is a joke honestly. Even when you qualify they make you jump through so many hoops and the website crashes half the time. But yeah if you got laid off through no fault of your own you should definitely qualify.

Just went through this myself. Make sure you have your last day of work accurate when you file - I put the wrong date initially and it caused issues with my claim timing.

0 coins

Good point, my last day was actually Thursday but I got the notice Friday. Should I use Thursday as my last work date?

0 coins

Yes use Thursday, the actual last day you worked and got paid, not when you got the layoff notice.
