Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. I work in cybersecurity (not for NY state) and I can tell you these alerts are legitimate concerns. What's likely happening is credential stuffing - hackers got passwords from other breached sites and are trying them on government portals. If you use the same password across multiple sites, you're especially vulnerable.

calling the fraud hotline is useless these days. I spent a whole month trying. Finally used Claimyr.com (its a service that keeps calling for you) and got through same day. talking to an agent got my $ situation fixed in under a week. dont waste ur time on hold.

This is happening because NY unemployment doesn't verify identity properly. It's a total cluster right now. My roommate's going through the same thing. The fraud department is completely overwhelmed. If you go the regular route it'll take 2-3 months minimum to resolve.

Did you make sure ur base period has enough wages? If you only worked 6 months, depending on WHICH 6 months, you might not qualify under the standard base period. Look up 'alternate base period' for NY unemployment.
I'm going through the EXACT same thing right now. I got through on the phone yesterday using claimyr.com (it calls for you and connects you to an agent). The agent told me my employer disputed my claim saying I was fired for misconduct which AUTOMATICALLY gives a $0 determination until it's resolved. You might want to check if that's your situation too.

Honestly, I stopped trusting the online portal completely. The only way to get accurate info is to talk to an actual human. I wasted 2 weeks checking the portal daily and sending messages.
