Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. I heard from someone who works at NYSDOL (friend of a friend) that their computer system had a major update that went wrong and affected about 20% of all active claims. They're working on a fix but it's taking forever because their tech is from like the 1980s 😩

Why is nobody talking about contacting our representatives about this?? Call your state assembly person and state senator! That's what I did and their office contacted unemployment on my behalf. Had my issue resolved within 48 hours. These offices deal with constituent services and can often get through to agencies when we can't.

Just called the main office number and asked to speak with whoever handles constituent services for unemployment issues. They took all my info and followed up.

Yeah for real. They just keep calling until they get through. It's like having someone else do the annoying part for you.

Here's a trick that worked for me: if you keep getting an error online, try using a completely different device or browser. The NY unemployment site is weird with certain browsers. I couldn't file on Chrome but it worked on my phone.
Sadly this is happening to thousands of people. The system wasn't designed for all the claims it's handling. I volunteered at a benefits help center last year and this was one of the most common issues. KEEP CERTIFYING no matter what and document everything. Write down all error messages, take screenshots, note dates/times of calls.
Thanks for the advice. It's crazy how many people are dealing with this. I'll definitely keep records of everything.

NY unemployment is THE WORST when trying to figure this out. I'm in a similar situation and still havent been able to reach anyone who can give me a straight answer. Let me know if you figure it out! 💀
Just fyi the $504 max weekly benefit amount was increased to $529 this year. So if your working part time and making less than that after taxes your probably eligible for something. But like others said, you have to have enough work history in your base period.
Actually its $540 now, they raised it again in October!

Just want to flag that SOMETIMES the partial unemployment system works better if you use Firefox instead of Chrome. Something about the form submission works differently. At least that was my experience when I filed back in october.

Has anyone had issues with the partial unemployment calculator? When I try to use it on the NY unemployment site it gives me wildly different numbers each time. Wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
