Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Here's a weird trick that worked for me: call exactly at 7:58am, two minutes before they officially open. Sometimes you get through to the queue before everyone else starts calling at 8:00am sharp.
This actually works! I got through yesterday doing this exact thing.
Did you upload all your identity documents? Sometimes they silently put a hold on your claim if they need to verify your identity. Check if there's a message on your account about uploading ID docs.
Yes I uploaded everything when I first applied...license, SSN, etc. No messages or alerts about missing documents.
super weird then. definitely sounds like you need to talk to someone. when i finally got through they fixed my similar issue in like 10 minutes

I didn't refile after my BYE date because I thought the process was automatic. BIG MISTAKE. Missed out on 4 weeks of benefits before I realized what was happening. Don't be like me!
the dept of labor website is so misleading on this. it says ur eligible for 26 weeks of benefits but doesnt explain that the BYE date can cut you off before you use all 26 weeks. its all designed to confuse ppl

NY DOL is absolutely drowning in claims right now. I have a friend who works there and they said they're over 3 weeks behind on processing backpay issues. Apparently there was a system glitch in September that affected thousands of accounts. Keep trying to reach them but also know it might resolve itself in the next week or two.

That chat feature is literally useless. It's either a bot or the world's most unhelpful humans. Can never tell which lmao
Pro tip: if you do need to call, do it right when they open at 8:00am on Monday. That's when wait times are shortest. Still not great but way better than mid-day.

Keep trying to call early in the morning around 7:55am. That's when I finally got through after a week of trying. Turns out my payment was held because I answered one of the certification questions wrong (said I was out of town for a day which triggered a review). Agent fixed it in 2 minutes and payment came through next day.
