If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

the system is rigged against part time workers!!! they make it impossible to qualify then wonder why people cant pay bills. meanwhile full time people get benefits handed to them

I feel your frustration but there are good reasons for the wage requirements. It ensures the system has enough funding from employer taxes.

Also check with 211 (dial 2-1-1) for local assistance programs. They can connect you with food banks, utility assistance, and sometimes emergency cash help while you figure out the unemployment situation.

The whole system is broken honestly. My friend waited 8 weeks just to find out they needed one additional document that nobody told her about. Meanwhile people are struggling to pay bills and the NYS Department of Labor acts like it's no big deal. They make the process deliberately confusing so fewer people can actually get benefits.

What document did she need? I want to make sure I have everything ready in case they ask.

Some verification of her last day worked because her employer reported different dates than what she put on her application. Such a simple thing but they let her wait 2 months before telling her.

Just to add - if you're approved, your first payment might be delayed because they send you a debit card first. You can set up direct deposit but that takes another few days to process. So even after approval, expect at least a week before money hits your account. Plan accordingly!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll look into setting up direct deposit right away once I'm approved.

I had trouble reaching NYS Department of Labor to ask about retraining programs until I found claimyr.com - they help you get through to actual agents instead of waiting on hold forever. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Way easier than trying to call the regular number.

Thanks for the tip! I've been trying to call for weeks about training programs but keep getting disconnected.

Just want to add that seasonal unemployment is super common in New York - construction, tourism, agriculture. NYS Department of Labor has specific provisions for seasonal workers but you still have to meet the job search requirements even if you know you'll go back to the same employer next season.

The NYS Department of Labor system is honestly confusing about this stuff. I spent forever trying to figure out which application to fill out. If you're having trouble getting through to them by phone (which you probably will), I used a service called Claimyr that helped me reach an actual agent. They have a demo video at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI and the site is claimyr.com. Made the whole process way less stressful than sitting on hold for hours.

Never heard of that service but honestly anything is better than trying to call NYS Department of Labor directly. Those wait times are insane.

Just apply for regular unemployment insurance through my.ny.gov - that's what 99% of people need. Don't overthink it. The system will tell you if you're not eligible for something. I made the mistake of researching too much instead of just filing and it delayed my claim by weeks.

Good point, I'll just start the application tonight and see what happens. Thanks everyone!

DON'T TRUST THE SYSTEM!!! They'll find any excuse to deny your claim or delay it for months. I've been fighting with NYS Department of Labor for over a year about an overpayment that makes no sense. They claim I owe them $2,800 but won't explain how they calculated it. Save every document and screenshot everything because they will change your information without telling you.

That's really frustrating but most people don't have those kinds of problems. The system works fine for the majority of claimants.

Just wanted to add that you'll also need to register for work search once your claim is approved. You'll need to apply for jobs and keep a log of your search activities. The requirements changed recently so make sure you understand what you need to do to maintain your benefits.
