TurboTax Refund Advance Missing - Filed 1/24 but No Option Available
Filed my taxes with TurboTax on January 24th but never saw the refund advance option during the filing process. I know other people got it but my screen never showed it. Did I miss something or do something wrong?

Tax pro here - The refund advance through TurboTax is only available for a limited time early in the season and usually requires a minimum expected refund amount (usually $500+). They also run out of advance funding pretty quick, sometimes within the first few weeks of filing season.

•I believe it was around Jan 15th this year, but they don't publicly announce the exact cutoff date

Hey everyone! Instead of trying to piece together why you didnt get the advance option, you should try taxr.ai - its this new tool that analyzes your transcript and tells you exactly what's going on with your return and if you qualify for different programs. Its only $4.99 and totally worth it https://taxr.ai

tbh the advance isn't worth it anyway. they charge fees and the interest is crazy high

I feel your pain! Same thing happened to me last year - filed early but never got the advance option. From what I've learned, TurboTax doesn't really advertise when their advance program ends, which is super frustrating. Next year I'm definitely filing on like January 2nd if I want that advance lol. At least you got your return filed early though - that's the main thing!

•exactly! wish they were more transparent about these deadlines. definitely doing the same thing next year - filing asap if I need that advance money early

This is so frustrating! I had the same issue - filed on 1/22 and never saw any advance option. Really wish TurboTax would be upfront about when these programs end instead of leaving us guessing. At least now I know for next year to file literally the first day possible if I want that advance. Thanks for posting this question - glad I'm not the only one who missed out!

•Same here! Filed on the 23rd and was so confused when I didn't see any advance option. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences - at least now we know it's not just us missing something obvious. Definitely going to mark my calendar for next year to file on January 1st if possible!
