I used something similar to Claimyr when I had issues with my weekly claims getting stuck. Sometimes you just need to talk to a human to sort things out.
The hold could also be related to identity verification. They've been cracking down on fraud so they're reviewing more claims manually.
Seriously consider using Claimyr if you can't get through by calling. It was a lifesaver for me when my claim was stuck. Worth checking out their demo video to see how it works.
One last thing - if your claim goes into adjudication, be patient but persistent. Sometimes they need additional information and the process stalls if you don't respond quickly to their requests.
It's just when Washington ESD needs to investigate something about your claim before approving benefits. Could be verifying your reason for unemployment or checking your work history.
This is another good reason to use something like Claimyr - you can actually talk to someone to find out what's holding up your claim instead of just waiting and wondering.
The key is to stay on top of everything from day one. File immediately, do your job search, keep records, file your weekly claims on time. It's a lot to manage but becomes routine after a few weeks.
One more thing to consider - if you received unemployment benefits and also had a job during the same year, make sure your total withholding covers both income sources. I got hit with underpayment penalties because I didn't adjust my W-4 when I started working again.
For what it's worth, I used Claimyr last month to get through to Washington ESD about a different issue and they were able to help me access my 1099-G online. Much faster than trying to call myself. The website is claimyr.com if anyone needs it.

I was in a similar situation and ended up getting benefits after I quit. The key was keeping detailed records of everything my supervisor did wrong. Dates, times, what was said, who was there.

•How detailed did you get with the records? I'm not sure what level of detail they want.

•Very detailed. Like 'On March 15, 2024, at 2:30 PM, supervisor John Smith yelled at me in front of customers and called me incompetent.' That level of detail.

Bottom line - you can get unemployment if you quit for good cause, but it's harder than if you're laid off. Start documenting everything now and be prepared for a longer process.

•Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'm going to start keeping detailed records and see if I can resolve things first.

•Good plan. And remember, if you do end up quitting and filing for benefits, don't let the process intimidate you if you have legitimate good cause.
