If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

One more thing - when you file your weekly claims, make sure you're reporting the correct week. The claim week runs Sunday to Saturday, not whatever your normal work week is.

Good catch! I work Monday through Friday at the warehouse, so I need to think in terms of Sunday-Saturday weeks.

0 coins

Exactly. It's a common mistake that can mess up your benefit calculations.

Thanks for posting this question! I've been wondering the same thing since I lost my second job last month. Going to file my claim this weekend based on all the helpful responses here.

Awesome! Glad my question helped other people too. Good luck with your claim!

Thanks! This thread has been way more helpful than trying to navigate the Washington ESD website alone.

The whole thing is overwhelming at first but once you get into the routine it's not too bad. File your weekly claim, do your job searches, keep good records. Just stay on top of it.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the help! I feel a lot more confident about getting started now.

0 coins

Good luck! Don't hesitate to come back if you run into issues during the process.

One last thing - if you have any questions after you file, try the Washington ESD website chat first before calling. Sometimes that's faster than waiting on hold forever.

0 coins

Didn't know they had chat support, that's good to know!

0 coins

The chat is hit or miss though. For anything complicated you still need to talk to a real person on the phone.

0 coins

One last tip - make sure you're filing your weekly claims on time. Missing a week can mess up your payment schedule and cause delays.

0 coins

When are the weekly claims due? I want to make sure I don't miss any deadlines.

0 coins

You can file starting Sunday for the previous week, and it's due by Saturday. Most people file on Sunday to stay on schedule.

Thanks everyone for all the info! This thread answered way more questions than I expected. Feel much more confident about my unemployment benefits now.

Definitely! This community has been amazing. Thanks to everyone who contributed.

If you're reading this and have an overpayment notice, don't do what I did and stick your head in the sand. Call them immediately, even if it takes forever to get through. Setting up a payment plan early saves you so much money and stress in the long run.

Or use Claimyr to cut through the phone queue hell. Seriously made dealing with my overpayment so much easier when I could actually talk to someone quickly.

Wish I had known about that service when I was going through this. Would have saved me weeks of frustration.

0 coins

Bottom line - they have way more collection tools than regular creditors and they will use them. Wage garnishment, tax intercepts, blocking future benefits. Don't test them on this.

0 coins

Point taken. I'm convinced I need to deal with this head-on instead of hoping it goes away.

0 coins

Smart choice. It's scary at first but once you have a plan in place, the stress level drops dramatically.

One last tip - once you're approved and start receiving benefits, don't forget to pay attention to tax implications. UI benefits are taxable income. You can have taxes withheld from your weekly payments or handle it when you file your return.

0 coins

Good point. I'll probably have them withhold taxes to avoid a big bill later.

0 coins

Smart choice. The withholding is 10% federal but you might owe state taxes too depending on your total income for the year.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful info. I think I understand the requirements now and it sounds like I should qualify. Going to gather all my employment docs and file this week. Appreciate all the detailed responses!

Good luck with your claim! Feel free to ask if you run into any issues during the application process.

And remember, if you need to talk to Washington ESD directly about anything, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier is still available. Much easier than trying to get through on your own.
