Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. If it helps, Washington ESD typically processes claims in the order they were received. So if you filed 10 days ago, you're probably getting close to being reviewed.
That does help actually. Nice to know there's some kind of system to it rather than just random chaos.
Hang in there! I was stressed about the same thing a few months ago and everything worked out fine. Got my first payment at the 3 week mark and all the back pay covered the waiting period.

Just remember that even if you qualify for the maximum weekly amount, you still need to meet all the eligibility requirements each week - available for work, actively seeking work, and able to work. High benefits don't exempt you from any requirements.
Exactly. I know someone who lost benefits because they thought having the maximum amount meant they didn't have to job search as actively.
That's a costly mistake. Washington ESD takes the job search requirements seriously regardless of your benefit amount.
The monetary determination letter you receive will also show your base period wages quarter by quarter, so you can verify they have the right information. If anything looks wrong, contact them immediately to get it corrected.

At this point I'm just grateful Washington ESD exists at all. Could be worse - could be living in a state with no unemployment benefits.
That's setting the bar pretty low don't you think?
Maybe, but I try to stay positive. Complaining doesn't make the process go faster.

Bottom line - treat unemployment like regular income because that's what it is for tax purposes. Have taxes withheld if you want to keep it simple, or set aside money yourself if you prefer more control. Just don't ignore it and hope it goes away.

One thing to watch out for - even though there's no waiting week, if you have any issues with your claim it can take time to resolve. I had to use Claimyr to get through to someone about my job separation issue.
