For what it's worth, I got fired from my last job for performance issues and had no problems getting unemployment benefits. Filed online, did the phone interview a few weeks later, and got approved. The whole process took about a month from start to finish.
Just to echo what others have said - apply now! The sooner you file, the sooner you can start getting benefits if you qualify. And definitely use that Claimyr service if you need to talk to someone at Washington ESD. Saved me so much time and frustration.
Been following this thread and want to thank everyone for sharing their experiences. Makes you feel less alone when you're going through this stressful situation.
One last piece of advice - make sure you understand the difference between benefit exhaustion and benefit year end. They're handled completely differently by Washington ESD and people often get confused about which situation they're in.
Great point. Exhaustion = you've used up your dollar amount. Year end = you've reached 52 weeks regardless of remaining balance. Two totally different processes.
The most important thing is to file your weekly claims every single week, even if your payment is delayed or you're waiting for adjudication. If you miss filing a weekly claim, you lose that week of benefits forever - there's no going back and claiming it later.
Based on your hourly wage, you should qualify for a decent benefit amount. The key is staying patient with the process and not getting discouraged if there are delays. Washington ESD processes thousands of claims so sometimes things take longer than expected, but most legitimate claims do get approved eventually.
Been helping people with unemployment claims for years. The most important thing is honesty. Don't try to hide anything or embellish - Washington ESD will find out and it can disqualify you completely.
Which brings us back to the original problem - actually getting through to someone at Washington ESD to ask questions!
Yep, that's why services like Claimyr exist. Sometimes you need professional help navigating the system.
One last thing - if you think you might not qualify for regular unemployment, there might be other programs available. Don't assume you're not eligible without checking.

The whole system is confusing but honestly once you get your claim established and figure out the weekly filing routine, it's not too bad. The hardest part is just getting started and making sure you meet all the initial requirements.

•Good luck! Don't stress too much about getting everything perfect on the initial application. You can always provide additional information later if needed.

One last thing - make sure you're prepared for the identity verification process. Washington ESD has gotten really strict about ID verification since all the fraud issues a few years ago. Have your driver's license, Social Security card, and some recent pay stubs ready.

•Good to know! I have all those documents so I should be set. Hopefully the whole process goes smoothly.

•The ID verification usually happens pretty quickly if you have all the right documents. It's when people have missing or unclear documentation that claims get stuck in adjudication for weeks.
