Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. How long will I get unemployment benefits from Washington ESD?

I just got approved for unemployment benefits and I'm trying to figure out how long I can collect. My job ended last month after 2 years at a manufacturing company. I've been looking at the Washington ESD website but it's confusing - some places say 26 weeks, others mention different amounts. Does it depend on how much I earned or how long I worked? I want to plan my job search timeline accordingly.

One more thing to remember - if you do exhaust your regular benefits, you might be eligible for Extended Benefits (EB) if the unemployment rate triggers it, but that's pretty rare and we're not in that situation currently.

Exactly right. Extended Benefits are triggered automatically when certain unemployment thresholds are met, but Washington hasn't triggered EB in several years.

I'm at week 24 of 26 and finally got a job offer yesterday. Cutting it close but the benefits gave me the time I needed to find something decent instead of taking the first minimum wage job I could find.

How do you claim unemployment in Washington - first time filing and totally lost

I've never had to file for unemployment before and honestly have no idea where to start. Got laid off from my retail job last Friday and everyone keeps telling me to file right away but I don't even know what that means. Do I just go to the Washington ESD website? What information do I need? Is there a phone number I should call? I'm worried I'm going to mess something up and not get approved. Any help would be appreciated - feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.

How to qualify for Washington ESD unemployment if you quit your job

I left my job last month because my boss was creating a hostile work environment and making unreasonable demands. I tried to stick it out but it was affecting my mental health. Now I'm wondering if I can still get unemployment benefits through Washington ESD since I technically quit rather than being laid off. Does anyone know what the rules are for qualifying when you voluntarily leave? I really need the financial support while I look for something new.
