Has anyone tried the IT boot camps? I've been looking at Code Fellows and some others but they're expensive and not sure if ESD would approve them as training programs? My understancing is that training has to be at accredited schools
You're right about the accreditation requirements. Most coding bootcamps aren't approved for ESD training benefits because they lack proper accreditation. Community college programs are almost always approved if they're for in-demand occupations, while private training programs have a much higher bar to clear.
One more thing - make sure you file for Training Benefits as soon as possible. There's a deadline based on when your unemployment claim started (usually within the first 52 weeks). If you miss this window, you might not be eligible even if the training program is approved. Also, if you're considering healthcare, check out the WA Health Workforce Gateway program. They sometimes have accelerated approval processes for healthcare training through partnerships with ESD. I believe they're specifically working to reduce wait times for certain high-demand certifications.
One additional piece of advice - make sure to continue filing your weekly claims during this process, but report all hours worked accurately. Even if you're working full-time, keep filing until ESD specifically tells you to stop. This ensures your claim stays active while they're processing everything, which is important if you need to appeal or request adjustments. It also shows good faith that you're trying to follow their procedures.
my claim does this every week lol. it says web processing on sunday night then by tuesday it changes to paid and i get my money on wednesday. i think its just how the system works sometimes
UPDATE: You guys were right! It just changed to 'paid' status this morning. The money isn't in my account yet but at least it's moving forward. Thanks everyone for the reassurance and advice!
This happens EVERY TIME they do system maintenance on their website!! I swear ESD does this on purpose to mess with us. Last time they did updates I didn't get paid for almost a week beyond normal. Their whole system is garbage and they don't care that people depend on this money for FOOD and RENT. So sick of this!!!
Just wanted to update everyone - mine finally arrived this afternoon too. Looks like whatever issue they were having is getting resolved. So relieved!

I had the same question when I first started UI in January! Once it's in 'processing web' status you're good to go, that means the money is on its way. For me it's always exactly 2 business days after it shows processing. So if it showed processing on Monday, it would be in my account Wednesday morning.

UPDATE: The money hit my account this morning! So it took exactly 2 business days from 'processing web' to deposit. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance. Such a relief to have this finally sorted out.
