I literally just dealt with this last month lol. Select "laid off/lack of work" and then explain in the comments that you're still employed but weren't scheduled for any hours that week. Worked fine for me!
UPDATE: I submitted my claim using 'laid off/lack of work' and explained everything in the comments section. My payment was processed normally and I didn't have any issues! Thanks everyone for your help with this. Hopefully this thread helps someone else in the same situation.
UPDATE: Finally got through to ESD this morning! Used the advice from this thread and specifically asked for a backdate adjustment for my reopened claim. The agent was really helpful once I explained everything clearly. They backdated my claim reopening to 3/16 and said last week will now count as my waiting week instead of this week. Payment for this week should process in the next 48 hours! Such a relief - thank you all for your help!
this happened to me last year it took 10 WEEKS to get my money!!! the whole time my bills were piling up and i almost got evicted. i finally went in person to a WorkSource office and cried to them and magically my claim got fixed the next day. try going in person if u can
Just following up - were you able to get through using any of the suggestions? One more thing I forgot to mention is that if you have any job separation issues (like if you quit or were fired rather than laid off), that almost always triggers a longer review period. Did you file your initial claim with any special circumstances?
I finally got through yesterday using that Claimyr service someone mentioned! It actually worked. Turns out there was an identity verification flag on my account that never showed up in my portal or alerts. The agent was able to verify my identity right there on the call and said my payments should start processing within 3-5 business days. I was laid off (construction downsizing) so there shouldn't have been any issues with my separation reason. The agent couldn't explain why I never received any identity verification notices. System glitch apparently.

one more thing i forgot to mention...when you report your hours make sure you report the actual hours worked not just scheduled hours. and report the gross pay before taxes.

I went through this exact situation in 2023. Here's exactly what happens: 1. You report your hours and wages each week you work 2. ESD calculates your partial benefit using their formula 3. You continue receiving reduced benefits as long as you earn less than your weekly benefit amount 4. You must continue doing 3 job search activities each week 5. ESD will verify your employment through regular quarterly employer reports The most important thing is accuracy. If you accidentally report your hours or wages incorrectly, call ESD immediately to fix it. Even honest mistakes can trigger an overpayment notice if not corrected quickly.
