One more thing - make sure you understand how a loan payment will affect your monthly budget. With unemployment benefits, every dollar counts. Don't take on more than you can realistically handle.
Pro tip: set up direct deposit if you haven't already. The debit card option can have delays sometimes and you want that back pay as fast as possible.
The whole adjudication process needs to be reformed. Six weeks is way too long to make people wait for benefits they've earned. Glad yours is finally resolved though.
Just remember that even after you start receiving benefits, you need to keep filing weekly and meeting all the requirements. It's not set-it-and-forget-it. You have to stay actively engaged with the process the entire time you're collecting.
My experience was 3 weeks exactly from filing to first payment. Week 1 waiting period, Week 2 first weekly claim filed, Week 3 got paid. But I know people who waited much longer due to various issues. Just stay patient and persistent.
File online, be honest about everything, and don't stress too much. The majority of people who apply get approved, even those who were terminated.

Been following this thread and wanted to add that I used Claimyr recently when I couldn't get through to Washington ESD about my weekly claim issue. Totally worth it to actually talk to a real person instead of dealing with busy signals all day. The video demo on their site shows exactly how the process works.

•Seems like a lot of people have had success with that service. I'll keep it in mind if I need to reach Washington ESD.

•Yeah I'm definitely bookmarking that for when I need to call them. Those phone lines are impossible otherwise.

Hope you don't get fired but if you do, you'll probably be fine benefit-wise. Most terminations I've seen for performance issues still qualify for unemployment. Washington ESD understands that sometimes jobs just aren't a good fit.
