If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

File online, be honest about everything, and don't stress too much. The majority of people who apply get approved, even those who were terminated.

Thanks for the encouragement! I really needed to hear that.

Good luck with your claim! Sounds like you have a solid case based on what you've described.

Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice. Feeling much more confident about filing now.

My claim was approved in exactly 2 weeks but I think that's because I had all my documentation ready and my separation was very clear-cut (company-wide layoffs). If there's any ambiguity about why you left your job, it's going to take longer.

0 coins

I was laid off too so hopefully that helps speed things up. Did you have to provide any additional documentation during the process?

0 coins

No, everything went smoothly. I think having the layoff notice from my employer helped a lot.

Bottom line is that Washington ESD is supposed to process claims within 21 days, but that's more of a goal than a guarantee. In reality, you should expect 3-4 weeks minimum, and potentially much longer if there are any complications with your claim.

0 coins

Ok so I shouldn't panic yet since I'm only at 10 days. I'll give it another week or two before I really start worrying.

0 coins

Exactly. 10 days is still pretty early in the process. But definitely keep checking your account and filing weekly claims in the meantime.

Last piece of advice - start looking for jobs immediately even if you think your unemployment claim will be approved. Washington ESD requires you to be actively seeking work, and the sooner you start building your job search log, the better. Plus you might find something great before your benefits even kick in!

0 coins

Good point! I've been so focused on the unemployment application that I haven't even started job hunting yet. I should do both.

0 coins

Exactly! And if you do get a job offer while your claim is pending, you can always withdraw your application. But having unemployment as a backup while you look gives you more negotiating power.

Hope everything works out for you! Being fired sucks but at least Washington has decent unemployment benefits compared to some states. You should be able to get by while you find something better.

Thanks everyone for all the advice! Feeling much more confident about this now.

Adding my experience - I was also confused initially but the online system is really the way to go. Physical offices are more of a last resort these days.

0 coins

That seems to be the consensus. Online first, phone if needed, physical office only if absolutely necessary.

And if you do need to call, services like Claimyr can save you a lot of frustration with busy phone lines.

Great thread! Just to wrap up - 'unemployment office' is Washington ESD, everything starts online at esd.wa.gov, and WorkSource is separate but related for job search requirements. Simple once you know the pieces.

Perfect summary! Thanks again everyone. Time to go file my claim.

Good luck! Come back if you have questions during the process.

Hope this all works out for you OP. The unemployment system can be frustrating but once you get the hang of it the payments are pretty reliable. Just stay on top of your weekly claims and job search requirements.

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. I feel much more confident about navigating this process now.

Feel free to post again if you run into any issues. Lots of people here have been through similar situations and can help troubleshoot problems.

One thing I wish someone had told me - if you move to a different state while collecting Washington unemployment, you need to notify them. The rules can get complicated with interstate claims.

0 coins

I'm planning to stay in Washington but good to know for the future.

0 coins

Yeah it's not something most people think about but it can cause payment delays if you don't handle it right.
