If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

This whole thread has been really helpful. I had no idea about most of this tax stuff when I filed for unemployment. Really wish Washington ESD was more upfront about the tax implications.

Agreed! It should be part of the initial application process or at least highlighted somewhere obvious.

Final thought - if you're doing your own taxes, make sure whatever software you use can handle unemployment income properly. Some of the free basic versions don't include all the forms you might need.

0 coins

Thanks for all the advice everyone! I feel much more prepared to handle the tax side of unemployment benefits now.

One more thing - if your new employer offers benefits, make sure you understand when they start. You don't want a gap in health insurance coverage.

0 coins

Good point! My benefits start day one fortunately, but that's definitely something to check.

0 coins

Yeah I had a 30-day waiting period for benefits at my new job. Had to get COBRA to bridge the gap.

For anyone else reading this thread - remember that if you're doing any freelance or gig work while on UI, you need to report that income too on your weekly claims.

0 coins

What about like DoorDash or Uber? Do you have to report that?

0 coins

Yes, any income needs to be reported, including gig work. Washington ESD considers it self-employment.

0 coins

If anyone needs to reach Washington ESD urgently, I had success with Claimyr too. They got me through to an agent who was able to explain exactly what was holding up my claim. Worth trying if you're stuck.

0 coins

How much does that service cost?

0 coins

I'd rather not discuss pricing here, but it was worth it for the peace of mind. Check their website for details.

0 coins

Bottom line: 2-4 weeks is normal, longer if there are complications. Keep filing weekly claims and try to stay patient. The system works, it's just slow.

0 coins

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I feel much better knowing what to expect.

One last thing - if you do file a claim and then find work quickly, make sure you report your return to work immediately. Don't keep certifying for benefits once you're employed again, even if it's just part-time work that pays less than your benefits.

0 coins

What happens if you accidentally certify after starting work?

0 coins

Washington ESD will eventually catch it through wage reporting and you'll have to pay back any overpayment. It's considered fraud if you do it intentionally, so always better to report changes right away.

Hopefully you won't need any of this information and your job will be secure! But it's smart to understand your options just in case. Good luck with everything!

Thanks everyone for all the helpful information! I feel much more prepared now if something does happen with my job.

This thread was really informative. I learned stuff I didn't know even though I've filed for unemployment before.

Great to hear you got it working! For anyone else having similar issues, all these tips are solid. The Washington ESD system definitely has its quirks but it's usually just a matter of trying at the right time with the right setup.

Yeah this thread was really helpful. Bookmarking it in case I run into problems with my claim later.

This whole thread is a perfect example of why Washington ESD needs to invest in better technology. Shouldn't be this hard to file for benefits you're entitled to.

0 coins

Completely agree. The system works but it's definitely not user-friendly. Hopefully they'll upgrade it soon.

Don't hold your breath. Government technology upgrades move at a snail's pace.
