Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. I used TurboTax last year and it walked me through the unemployment tax stuff pretty well. It automatically calculated everything once I entered my 1099-G information. Might be worth considering if you're doing your own taxes.

Not really. The software prompted me for the 1099-G and asked about withholding. Pretty straightforward compared to some other tax situations.
Final thought - if you're still on unemployment, definitely set up that tax withholding ASAP. Even if it's just for a few more payments, every bit helps reduce what you'll owe next year.

Screenshots of your work schedule are helpful too if your employer uses an online scheduling system.
The system isn't perfect but partial unemployment definitely helped me get through a tough period when my hours were cut. Just be patient with the process and keep filing those weekly claims!

Just to echo what others have said - file your claim now! Even if you're not 100% sure you qualify, let Washington ESD make that determination. You can't get benefits retroactively for weeks before you file.

Just wanted to add that if you do run into any problems with your claim after moving, don't panic. Most issues can be resolved with a phone call to Washington ESD, though getting through can be challenging. Document everything and be persistent.

One more tip - keep detailed records of your work schedule and earnings. Take screenshots of your timesheets or pay stubs. If there's ever a question about your claim, having documentation makes everything easier. I learned this when they asked me to verify my earnings from 6 months ago.

Update: I used that Claimyr service someone mentioned and actually got through to a Washington ESD agent within an hour. They were able to explain my claim status and help me understand what documentation they needed. Honestly worth it after weeks of trying to call on my own.
