I had to use that Claimyr service too when I couldn't get through to Washington ESD about my eligibility questions. Saved me days of calling and actually got me real answers about my specific situation.
Bottom line - you need work history in at least two quarters and sufficient wages during your base period. The exact amounts depend on what you earned, but Washington ESD has specific formulas they use to determine eligibility.
Just want to add that if you do end up needing to call Washington ESD for any reason, that Claimyr service really does work. I was hesitant to try it but after spending literal hours on hold getting nowhere, it was a lifesaver. The demo video on their site shows exactly how it works.
One more thing - if you're worried about the processing time, you can always check the Washington ESD website for current processing estimates. They sometimes update those based on current volume, though they're usually pretty conservative with their estimates.
The relationship between government spending and unemployment is complex but the bottom line is that we need both job creation AND a functioning unemployment system. Right now we have neither.
Thanks everyone for the discussion and especially for mentioning Claimyr. I just used their service and finally got through to Washington ESD. My claim was stuck because of a simple address verification issue that took 5 minutes to fix once I could talk to someone. Government spending theories aside, sometimes you just need practical solutions.
This is exactly what I needed to hear. I'm going to try Claimyr right now.
Also remember you have to be actively looking for work and report your job search activities. If you don't meet the requirements, your payments can get stopped.
One more thing - if you work part-time while collecting unemployment, you need to report those earnings on your weekly claim. They'll reduce your benefit amount but you can still get partial payments.

The benefit amount calculation can seem complicated but Washington ESD customer service can walk you through it if you can get through to them. I finally reached an agent last week using some callback service and they explained exactly how my amount was calculated.
