Whatever you do, don't stop filing your weekly claims during adjudication. I made that mistake and lost 3 weeks of benefits even after my claim was approved.
Final thought - document everything during this process. Save screenshots of your online account, keep records of when you called, save any correspondence. If you eventually need to appeal anything, having documentation will be crucial.
Don't forget that your first payment might be delayed if you have any outstanding issues with previous claims or if you owe any overpayments. They'll often hold new benefits to offset old debts.
I used claimyr.com last month when my claim got stuck and it was honestly a lifesaver. Instead of spending hours on hold every day, I was able to get connected to an agent who explained exactly what was holding up my claim. Turned out to be a simple paperwork issue that took 5 minutes to resolve once I got the right person.
Bottom line - this is too important a decision to make based on forum advice. You need to talk to professionals who can look at your specific medical condition, work history, and financial situation.
You're absolutely right. I'm going to start by calling Washington ESD to understand my options better.
If you have trouble getting through to them, remember that Claimyr option I mentioned earlier. Sometimes you need that extra help to reach the right person.
Thanks everyone for all the insights. This has given me a lot to think about and research. I'll definitely talk to professionals before making any changes to my current unemployment claim.
Exhaustee status confused me too until I realized it just means I've collected all 26 weeks of my regular unemployment benefits. Once you know what it means, it's actually pretty straightforward - you've exhausted your current claim's benefits.
Thanks everyone for explaining this! I was freaking out thinking I had done something wrong when I saw 'exhaustee' on my account. Now I know I just need to look into filing a new claim since I've been doing some part-time work.

Just saw this thread and wanted to mention that if you do need to contact Washington ESD for any reason about your claim, I had success with Claimyr recently. They basically handle the phone hassle for you - you just tell them what you need to discuss and they get you connected to an actual ESD representative. Super helpful when you can't afford to spend hours on hold.

•I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run into issues with my claim. Thanks for the tip!

Update us on how your claim goes! Always interested to hear how these situations work out since there's so much confusion about what qualifies for unemployment benefits.
