Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Thanks everyone for all the info in this thread. I was completely clueless about unemployment being taxed but now I know what to do with my 1099-G.

Update: I applied online this morning and it was actually pretty straightforward once I had all my employment info ready. Thanks everyone for all the helpful advice! Now I just have to wait to see if I get approved.

don't forget to file your weekly claims right away if you do get approved, even if the first payment is delayed. missing weekly claims can mess up your whole case

One last suggestion - if you end up needing to call Washington ESD multiple times during this process, that Claimyr service I mentioned earlier really does help cut through the phone line chaos. Saved me hours of redialing when I had questions about my claim.
I might need to try that too. I've been trying to reach ESD for weeks about my own claim issues with no luck.
I bookmarked their site earlier. Definitely seems like it could be useful for dealing with ESD phone issues.

One last thing - if you do need to contact Washington ESD by phone later and can't get through the regular way, that Claimyr service people mentioned really does work. I used it when I had questions about my weekly claim and it saved me hours of frustration.
I'll definitely keep that in mind. Hopefully I won't need it but good to know it's there.
