Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

If you have any issues with the Washington ESD website or need to speak with someone about your claim, I had good luck with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Saved me hours of trying to get through on the phone.

Quick tip - when you do your weekly claims, be super careful about how you answer the questions. One wrong answer can mess up your benefits. Read each question carefully and answer honestly.
This is important. I accidentally answered a question wrong once and it flagged my claim for review.
Exactly. And if something like that happens, that's another time when being able to actually talk to someone at Washington ESD becomes crucial.
Also just want to mention that if you do get denied initially, don't give up. The appeals process exists for a reason and many people win their appeals. You have rights in this process.
I believe it's 30 days from the date of the determination notice. Don't wait if you disagree with their decision.
And remember, during the appeals process you can still file weekly claims. If you win your appeal, you'll get back pay for those weeks.

One last thing - keep records of everything. Save confirmation numbers, print out your application, keep notes about when you filed. If any issues come up later, having documentation makes everything easier.

One more thing to consider - if you work part-time while collecting unemployment, it affects your weekly benefit amount. They don't just cut you off completely but they reduce your payment.
How does that calculation work? I might pick up some gig work while job searching.
Generally they subtract your earnings from your weekly benefit amount, but there's usually a small earnings disregard. Check with Washington ESD for the exact formula.
