If you have any issues with the Washington ESD website or need to speak with someone about your claim, I had good luck with that Claimyr service someone mentioned earlier. Saved me hours of trying to get through on the phone.
Quick tip - when you do your weekly claims, be super careful about how you answer the questions. One wrong answer can mess up your benefits. Read each question carefully and answer honestly.
Also just want to mention that if you do get denied initially, don't give up. The appeals process exists for a reason and many people win their appeals. You have rights in this process.
One last thing - keep records of everything. Save confirmation numbers, print out your application, keep notes about when you filed. If any issues come up later, having documentation makes everything easier.
Hope everything works out for you! The unemployment system isn't perfect but it's there to help people in exactly your situation. Don't feel bad about using it - you paid into it through your paychecks.
One more thing to consider - if you work part-time while collecting unemployment, it affects your weekly benefit amount. They don't just cut you off completely but they reduce your payment.
Thanks everyone for all the helpful info about maximum benefits. This thread has been way more useful than the Washington ESD website for understanding the calculation.

Last thing about Claimyr - they also help if you run into issues after you apply. Like if your claim gets stuck in adjudication or you need to appeal something. Having that backup support really helps with the stress of dealing with Washington ESD.

•That's good to know. I'll definitely keep that in mind if I run into problems.

Print out confirmation pages when you submit! The system sometimes glitches and you'll want proof you submitted on time.
