Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Been on unemployment for 8 weeks now and payments have been reliable every Wednesday. The key things are: file your weekly claim every Sunday, keep up with job search requirements, and report any work accurately. Don't overthink it.

It's really not that complicated once you get into the routine. Just stay on top of the weekly filing and you should be fine.
Quick question - does anyone know if holiday weeks affect the payment schedule? Like if Monday is a holiday do payments still come Wednesday?
Good question! I've noticed payments sometimes come Thursday instead of Wednesday during holiday weeks. Not a big delay but worth knowing.

This is exactly why I switched to having my benefits loaded onto the debit card instead of direct deposit. Seems like the card gets loaded more reliably.
Really? I thought direct deposit was supposed to be faster.
Usually it is, but when there are system issues like this week, the debit card payments seem less affected.

Bottom line: expect somewhere between $400-800/week based on your previous income, but don't count on getting it immediately. File as soon as possible and be prepared to wait.

Bottom line is you won't know exactly how much you'll get until you apply and they process your claim. The estimates are helpful but the actual calculation involves a lot of factors. Given your work history it sounds like you should qualify for something decent. Don't let uncertainty stop you from applying - worst case scenario they say no and you're in the same position you are now.
