Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

This happened to me! I think I know what might be wrong. Check if your claim spans a benefit year ending date - claims that start in one benefit year and continue into a new one often get stuck. They require manual processing but nobody tells you this. You just have to wait in limbo until they do it.
That could definitely be part of it! My claim did start in December which would be near the end of a quarter. Now that I've spoken to someone, they said there was an employer protest plus some quarterly review issues. Such a relief to finally know instead of being completely in the dark.
did they promise to release all your backpay at once? make sure they dont try to only give you some of it!!!
Yes, they said once the determination is made (assuming it's in my favor), all backpay would be processed at once. I made sure to get the rep's name and ID number just in case I need to reference this conversation later. I've learned my lesson about documentation through this whole ordeal!

this happens like every 3 months tbh... the PA UC system is always breaking down in some way... get used to it lol
While there are occasional delays, I've been on UC for 7 months and this is only the second time I've experienced a payment issue. If you're having frequent problems, it might be worth checking if there's something specific with your claim that's causing recurring issues.

make sure u check ur payment status on the uc website! sometimes it says "paid" on there for days b4 the money actually shows up in ur account
One more tip - if your backdated payments don't show up within 2 weeks of filing those weeks, there might be an issue that needs addressing. The payment status section should show each week as either "pending," "in progress," or "paid." If any week shows a different status or has been pending for more than 10 days, you should definitely call to check what's happening. Sometimes backdated weeks can trigger automatic reviews even after initial approval.
That's good to know! I'll keep an eye on the status. Right now they all say "pending" after I filed them today. Fingers crossed they change to "paid" soon!

I'd recommend trying multiple approaches simultaneously: 1. Contact your state rep 2. Visit CareerLink 3. Try to reach a phone agent directly 4. Document your financial hardship in writing The squeaky wheel often gets the grease in these situations. Just be persistent but polite. And make sure you continue filing your weekly claims even while waiting - this ensures you'll get all your backpay once approved.

One more thing to be aware of - since this is a seasonal layoff from construction, make sure his employer actually reported the layoff to UC. Sometimes employers will say they've filed the paperwork but haven't actually done it, which can delay benefits. If his dashboard shows his employer information correctly and his monetary determination is final (not pending), then you should be good to go.

To directly answer your original question: The transaction number should appear within 2-3 business days after filing (so by Wednesday), and the pay date usually follows 1-2 business days after that. So if you file on Sunday and there are no issues with the claim, the payment should be available by Friday at the latest, though sometimes it can be as early as Thursday.
