Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. I had such a hard time reaching someone at NYS Department of Labor when I got my 602a notice. Kept getting busy signals and automated hangups. One thing to watch out for - if there are any issues with your claim it can go into adjudication which means delays while they investigate. This can happen if your employer contests the claim or if there are questions about why you left your job. During adjudication you won't get paid until it's resolved, which can take weeks or even months sometimes.
Oh no, that sounds scary. What kind of things would make them investigate?
Things like being fired for misconduct, quitting without good cause, or if your employer says you were actually laid off for different reasons than what you claimed. Just be honest on your application about why you left your job.

Trump era unemployment rates were historically low until COVID hit. In NY specifically, unemployment was around 3.8% in 2019. But that doesn't really affect your individual benefit calculation - that's still based on your earnings history with NYS Department of Labor wage records.
yeah but low unemployment meant more jobs available so the pressure to find work was higher. now there's more understanding if you're having trouble finding something

oh i know exactly what youre talking about! try using your phone instead of computer sometimes that works better for some reason. also if you have the claim number you can sometimes get status info by calling the automated line
Good idea about trying mobile. What's the automated line number? Is it different from the main claims number?

yeah theyre totally different programs but i can see why people get confused since both involve government assistance when you dont have income from working
