Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. ugh the whole system is such a pain. took me forever to get approved and then they kept asking for more documentation even though i sent everything they wanted the first time. just be prepared for delays and frustration

just file already if you lost your job! the unemployment rate thing doesnt matter for your individual situation. worst case they say no and you appeal it

Single mothers are definitely hit hard too. Childcare costs make it almost impossible to take certain jobs, and if you have gaps in employment history from raising kids, employers treat you like you've been sitting around doing nothing. The whole system is broken.
NYS Department of Labor does offer childcare assistance through certain programs, and the SNAP Employment and Training program can help with job search support for parents. Worth exploring if you qualify.

THE NYS DEPARTMENT OF LABOR SYSTEM IS COMPLETELY BROKEN! They approve claims just to make their numbers look good but then find every excuse not to pay. I've been waiting 6 weeks for payments on an APPROVED claim. This is ridiculous!
