THE WHOLE SYSTEM IS DESIGNED TO CONFUSE PEOPLE!! They make the benefit calculation so complicated on purpose. I've been dealing with unemployment for years and they ALWAYS find ways to pay you less than you expect. Don't trust their estimates until you see actual payments in your account.
The whole system is a joke anyway. They make you jump through hoops even when your employer fires you for no good reason. I got terminated for 'not being a good fit' after 6 months and had to fight for benefits because they claimed it was performance related.
The determination process is so frustrating! They have 30 days to make a decision but often take longer. In your case, since it's been 2.5 weeks, you're still within the normal timeframe unfortunately. The fact that you don't see any document requests is actually a good sign - means they probably have everything they need and are just processing. Keep filing those weekly claims no matter what!
same boat here, filed 3 weeks ago and still pending determination. this system is broken, takes forever to get help and even longer to get answers. meanwhile rent is due and bills keep coming
THEY KNOW EVERYTHING!!! The government tracks every penny you make. I got flagged for working ONE DAY and they demanded proof I reported it. The whole system is designed to catch you making mistakes so they can take your benefits away.

I've been trying to reach someone at NYS Department of Labor for three weeks about my claim status and it's impossible! The phone lines are constantly busy and the online messaging system never gets responses. This is ridiculous - how are we supposed to resolve anything?

•I had the same problem until I found this service called Claimyr that actually gets you through to NYS Department of Labor agents. Check out claimyr.com - they have a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. I was skeptical at first but it actually connected me to an agent in under 10 minutes when I'd been trying for weeks on my own.

The whole system is broken if you ask me. They're quick to send overpayment notices but take forever to approve legitimate claims. It's like they assume everyone is trying to cheat the system.

•I get the frustration but there are federal requirements they have to follow for benefit integrity. The focus on preventing improper payments isn't just about being difficult - it's about maintaining the program's funding.
