If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

just wanted to say good luck with the application! being on unemployment is stressful enough without worrying about food. the system is there to help people in situations exactly like yours.

Just to add some specifics that might help - when you apply online at myBenefits.ny.gov, make sure you have your Social Security card, ID, and that unemployment award letter ready to upload. The system will ask you to verify your identity, so having all your documents ready speeds things up. Also, if you qualify, you might be eligible for expedited processing (benefits within 7 days) since your income is pretty low. Worth asking about when you apply!

This is really helpful info about the expedited processing! I had no idea that was even an option. With only $315/week coming in, I'm definitely struggling to afford groceries right now. Do you know if there's a specific income threshold for expedited benefits or is it more case-by-case? I'm going to gather all those documents you mentioned and apply this week.

The whole system is a joke honestly. They make you jump through hoops just to get money you're entitled to. Been dealing with NYS Department of Labor for months on various issues and it's always something. ALWAYS.

I feel your pain but complaining doesn't help OP get their money faster

I'm going through the exact same thing right now! Filed my claim 10 days ago and still showing pending with no payments. It's really stressful when you're counting on that money. From what I've read online, the NYS Department of Labor is supposed to process initial claims within 2-3 weeks, so hopefully we're both close to getting approved. Have you tried checking if there are any document requests or verification steps needed in your account? Sometimes they ask for additional paperwork that can hold things up.

oh and btw make sure u activate the card the SECOND u get it. cause the activation line sometimes has long wait times too. this whole system is just waiting and more waiting lol

Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely activate it right away. This waiting game is driving me crazy!

I went through this exact same situation about 6 months ago and it was so stressful! Here's what I learned: the Key2Bank card usually arrives within 7-10 business days like others mentioned, but sometimes it can be faster. When NYSDOL says benefits were "released to debit card" it means they've sent the money to Key2Bank, but Key2Bank won't show anything until you activate the card. One thing that helped me was checking my mail every single day starting day 5 - mine actually came on day 6. Also, when you do get it, have your SSN and personal info ready for activation because their phone system can be slow. The good news is once you activate it, your money should be there immediately! Hang in there - I know waiting for money you need is the worst feeling, but it will come!

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It's really helpful to hear from someone who went through the exact same thing. Day 6 would be amazing - I'm definitely going to be checking my mail obsessively starting Monday. And good tip about having all my info ready for activation, I hadn't thought about that part potentially taking forever too. This whole process is so nerve-wracking when you're counting on the money, but hearing success stories like yours gives me hope!

This is happening to SO many people right now! I've been dealing with the same thing for the past week - three payments showing "released" but my bank account is still empty. After reading through all these comments, I'm definitely going to call tomorrow and specifically ask about manual review flags and backend processing errors like @StellarSurfer mentioned. It's crazy that we have to become detective investigators just to get our own benefits! Has anyone had luck with calling at a specific time of day? I've been trying in the mornings but wondering if afternoons might be better. This whole system is such a mess and it's causing so much unnecessary stress when people are already struggling 😔

@James Martinez I ve'had better luck calling right when they open at 8am - seems like the reps are fresher and more willing to actually help instead of rushing you off the phone. Also, after reading @StellarSurfer s'advice, I m'going to be way more persistent tomorrow. Don t'let them give you the standard everything "looks fine brush-off!" Ask specifically about payment processing holds, manual review status, and backend errors. Document everything too - rep names, times, what they tell you. It s'ridiculous we have to fight this hard but at least we re'not alone in this mess! 💪

Just wanted to add my experience for anyone else dealing with this - I had the exact same issue last year where payments showed "released" for almost 3 weeks but never hit my account. Turns out there was some kind of security flag on my account that nobody mentioned until I got the right rep. What finally worked for me was calling and specifically asking them to check for "payment holds," "security reviews," and "processing flags" on my account. Don't let them give you the basic "everything looks good" response - ask them to actually pull up your payment details and check the status codes. Also, if the first rep can't help, politely ask for a supervisor or to have your case escalated. It's frustrating that we have to be so persistent but unfortunately that seems to be the only way to get real help with these payment issues. Hang in there everyone! 🙏

@Morita Montoya this is really helpful advice! I m'going through the same nightmare right now - payments stuck on released "for" over a week. Thanks for mentioning those specific terms to ask about - payment "holds, security" "reviews, and" processing "flags. I" ve'been getting the runaround with the standard responses but I m'definitely going to be more persistent when I call tomorrow. It s'so frustrating that we have to become experts at their system just to get our own money, but at least knowing what to ask for gives me some hope. Really appreciate you taking the time to share what worked for you! 🙏

I've been through this same situation! When I first started collecting unemployment in NY, I was so anxious about when the payments would actually show up. From my experience over the past 6 months, if you certify on Sunday, the money typically hits your account Tuesday or Wednesday. The key thing is to make sure you certify as early as possible - I always do mine Sunday evening right when it becomes available. Also, double-check that your direct deposit info is 100% correct in your my.ny.gov account because even a small typo can cause major delays. One time my payment was delayed by a week because I had an old routing number in there. Hope this helps ease your worry - the system does work once you get into the rhythm of it!

This is so reassuring to hear! I'm in the exact same boat as Jessica - just got approved after my restaurant closed down and I'm stressed about timing with bills coming up. Your tip about certifying Sunday evening is really helpful. Did you ever have any issues with the my.ny.gov website being slow or crashing when you tried to certify? I've heard some people complain about technical problems but wasn't sure how common that actually is.

0 coins

@Keisha Thompson @Jessica Nolan I ve had'the my.ny.gov site crash on me a few times, especially on Sunday evenings when everyone is trying to certify at once. My advice is to try certifying earlier in the day on Sunday or even late Saturday night if the system lets you. If the site does crash while you re in'the middle of certifying, don t panic'- your progress usually saves and you can pick up where you left off. Just make sure to complete it before the deadline. I also learned to screenshot my confirmation page just in case there are any disputes later about whether I certified on time.

I just went through this exact same process a few weeks ago! The waiting period after your first certification is definitely nerve-wracking, especially when you have bills due. In my experience, NYS unemployment payments typically arrive within 2-3 business days after certifying. Since you filed on Sunday, you should see the money by Tuesday or Wednesday. One thing that helped me was setting up text alerts through my bank so I'd get notified immediately when the direct deposit hit. Also, make sure you have the my.ny.gov app downloaded - it makes it much easier to check your payment status and certify each week. The good news is once you get into the routine, the timing becomes pretty predictable. Hang in there!

0 coins

Thanks for sharing your experience! That's really helpful to know about the 2-3 business day timeline. I'm definitely going to set up those bank alerts - that's a great tip I hadn't thought of. I've been refreshing my account way too much since Sunday! Quick question - when you mention the my.ny.gov app, is that different from just using the website on your phone? I've been using the mobile browser version but if there's an actual app that works better, I'd love to download it.
