If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

try contacting your state representative or assemblyperson! sounds crazy but they can actually help with unemployment issues. i was stuck with verification problems for months, called my assembly member's office, and they had it fixed in 2 days. they have special contacts at nysdol.

💯 THIS! My state senator's office got my issues fixed when nothing else worked. They have a dedicated liaison at unemployment.

I went through this exact nightmare last month! After weeks of failed attempts, here's what finally worked for me: 1) Make sure you're using the EXACT same name format across all documents (including middle initial vs full middle name), 2) Take your selfie in natural daylight near a window - the lighting makes a huge difference, 3) If you have any old addresses associated with your credit report, ID.me might be pulling those for verification questions. I had to temporarily lift my credit freeze like someone mentioned above, and that was the key! Also try using a different device entirely - sometimes their system gets glitchy with certain browsers/phones. Don't give up, it's incredibly frustrating but there IS a solution that will work for your specific situation.

Thank you so much for sharing what worked! I'm definitely going to try the natural lighting tip - I've been taking my selfies indoors with artificial lighting. And you're right about the credit freeze thing, I think that might be my issue too. Quick question - when you lifted your credit freeze, did you have to lift it with all three bureaus or just one? Want to make sure I do this right!

I'm in a similar situation and have been trying to call the NYS Department of Labor for weeks to ask about benefit amounts but can never get through! The phone lines are always busy and when I do get in the queue I get disconnected. Has anyone found a better way to reach them? This is so frustrating when you're trying to plan your finances.

I had the same problem trying to reach NYS Department of Labor agents until someone told me about Claimyr (claimyr.com). They actually get you connected to the unemployment office without having to wait on hold forever. I used it last month and got through to an agent in like 10 minutes. There's a video demo at https://youtu.be/qyftW-mnTNI that shows how it works. Definitely worth checking out if you're stuck trying to get answers about your claim.

just a heads up the weekly amounts change every year so make sure youre looking at 2025 rates not old info. also in nyc the cost of living is crazy so even the max barely covers rent but its better than nothing i guess

@Isabel Vega so true about NYC rent! I m'paying $2800 for a 1BR in Brooklyn so even max benefits would only cover like half. Did you find any other assistance programs that helped bridge the gap? I m'wondering if there are emergency rental assistance programs still available or food assistance I should look into while I m'between jobs.

This might sound crazy, but try tweeting at the DOL. I did that out of frustration and surprisingly got a response pretty quickly.

I went through the exact same thing last year! The adjudication closed with radio silence for almost 2 weeks. Turns out there was a glitch in their system and my decision letter got stuck in processing. What finally worked for me was calling the technical support line instead of the regular claims line - they have a separate number for system issues. The wait was still brutal but at least I got through. Also, make sure you're checking your online account AND the separate "correspondence" section - sometimes documents show up there first before being mailed. Don't lose hope, it will get resolved eventually!

Wait, there's a separate technical support line?! @Connor O'Neill do you happen to remember what that number was? I've been calling the main claims line this whole time and getting nowhere. Also thanks for the tip about the correspondence section - I totally missed that!

Make sure you're reporting ALL earnings when you file your weekly claim, even if it's cash work or just a few hours. NYS Department of Labor cross-references with employers and not reporting can trigger an overpayment investigation. The formula is: Weekly Benefit Rate minus (Earnings minus 25% of Weekly Benefit Rate) = Your payment amount.

0 coins

So with my $350 weekly benefit and $320 earnings: $350 - ($320 - $87.50) = $117.50 I'd still get? That's better than I thought!

0 coins

Exactly! As long as you report everything honestly, partial benefits can really help bridge the gap.

Just want to add that the earnings calculation can get tricky if you have variable hours each week. I learned the hard way that you need to report earnings for the week you actually worked, not when you got paid. So if you worked Monday-Friday but got paid the following Tuesday, those earnings count for the week you worked. Also, if your part-time earnings consistently put you over the benefit amount, NYS Department of Labor might eventually close your claim assuming you're no longer unemployed. Keep track of your hours and earnings carefully!

I'm in a similar situation - my card was also mailed Monday and I'm anxiously waiting! Reading through everyone's experiences here, it sounds like 7-10 business days is the norm, though some people got theirs faster. I'm in Queens and really hoping it arrives by early next week. One thing I learned from this thread is to definitely check my mail carefully since the envelope looks plain. Also planning to set up direct deposit immediately once I get it activated so I don't have to go through this waiting game again for future payments. Fingers crossed for both of us that they arrive soon!

Same here! It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one waiting anxiously. I'm also in Brooklyn so hopefully we're both in the same delivery zone and get ours around the same time. The direct deposit tip seems like a game changer - I had no idea that was even an option until reading this thread. Really appreciate everyone sharing their experiences here, it's made me feel a lot less stressed about the wait. Good luck with yours!

Just wanted to add that I had a similar experience recently - my card was mailed on a Thursday and arrived the following Tuesday, so about 5 business days total. I'm in the Bronx for reference. One thing that really helped my anxiety was knowing that even if the card is delayed, your payments are still being processed and will be available once you do get it activated. The money doesn't disappear! Also, make sure you have the NYSDOL app downloaded so you can check your payment history and see when funds are actually loaded to your account. It helped me track everything better than just the website. Hang in there - I know the waiting is stressful but it will come!
