If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

I'm going through the same thing right now - filed my appeal 3 weeks ago after being wrongly denied. It's so stressful not knowing when you'll hear back or get any income. Has anyone had success getting updates on their appeal status through the online portal, or is calling really the only way? The waiting is the worst part when you have bills piling up.

I feel your pain! The online portal is pretty much useless for getting real updates - it just shows the same basic status info. Calling is really your best bet, but like everyone says, it's nearly impossible to get through. I've been checking the portal obsessively but it hasn't changed since I filed my appeal 5 weeks ago. At least we know from others here that 8-13 weeks seems to be the norm, so hopefully we'll both hear something soon. The financial stress is real though - I'm burning through my savings just to keep up with rent.

UPDATE: My payment finally hit this morning (Thursday)! The status on the website still says "pending" but the money is definitely in my account. Looks like it was just a processing delay after all. Thanks everyone for your help and reassurance!

Great news! This is very common with NYSDOL systems - the payment status lags behind the actual deposit by 1-2 days sometimes. Glad it worked out without having to make calls.

Glad to see this worked out for everyone! As someone who's been dealing with NY unemployment for over a year, I can confirm these random processing delays happen more often than they should. The frustrating part is NYSDOL rarely communicates about them proactively - you usually find out through forums like this or their Twitter if you're lucky. For future reference, if your payment is more than 3 business days late AND showing as "pending" (not "released"), that's when you should definitely call. But if it just says "processed" or "released," it's usually just a banking delay and will show up within a day or two. Keep this thread bookmarked for the next time it happens!

This is such valuable advice! I'm new to this community and just started collecting unemployment last month. Reading through this whole thread was really educational - I had no idea these random delays were so common with NYSDOL. The tip about checking if it says "pending" vs "released" is especially helpful. I'll definitely bookmark this for future reference. Thanks to everyone who shared their experiences!

The system is so unfair honestly. People make mistakes and then they can't even get help when they lose their job because of it. I get that there have to be rules but sometimes life happens and people need support to get back on their feet.

I totally understand that frustration. The system does feel harsh sometimes, especially when someone is already dealing with job loss. Maybe one thing that could help is looking into whether there are any job training or rehabilitation programs available through NYS that don't have the same eligibility restrictions as regular unemployment benefits? Sometimes there are alternative support options even when traditional UI benefits aren't available.

I've been through a similar situation and wanted to share what I learned. Your friend should definitely file for unemployment benefits regardless - it's free to apply and the worst case is getting denied. When I went through this process, I discovered that NYS Department of Labor looks at several factors beyond just the failed test itself. They consider things like whether proper procedures were followed, if the employee was given adequate notice of the drug testing policy, and whether the role was safety-sensitive. Even if initially denied, the appeals process can sometimes uncover procedural issues that work in the claimant's favor. The key is to be completely honest on the application and provide any relevant documentation they might have about the circumstances.

Same boat here! Filed yesterday morning and still showing pending. The waiting game is the worst part of this whole process. Thanks for asking this - was wondering the same thing but didn't want to seem impatient 😅

You're definitely not being impatient! I think we're all constantly refreshing that page lol. From what everyone's saying it sounds like anytime between 7:30am and noon is normal, but sometimes even later. At least we're not alone in the waiting game!

I've been dealing with this for months now and honestly the timing is all over the place. Sometimes it updates at 7:30am sharp, other times I'm checking until like 3pm. What I've noticed is that if you file late Sunday night it might not process until later Monday. Also check your bank account directly - sometimes the money hits before the website even updates the status. The whole system needs a major overhaul tbh 🙄

This is so true about filing late Sunday! I made that mistake once and didn't see my payment update until like 4pm Monday. Now I always try to file early Sunday morning. The bank thing is good advice too - I've had my deposit show up while the DOL site still said pending. Really wish they'd fix this system, the stress of waiting every week is exhausting 😩

Just make sure you file soon after your job ended. There's usually a waiting period and you don't want to lose out on any weeks of benefits you're entitled to.

I'm 58 and was in a similar situation a few months ago - lost my part-time retail job and was worried about how my early Social Security would affect unemployment. Like others mentioned, you can definitely receive both! Just wanted to add that when you file your initial claim, they'll ask about all income sources but Social Security won't disqualify you. The key thing is being honest about your work availability - I made it clear I was looking for part-time work that would work with my schedule and had no problems. Good luck Paolo, and don't wait too long to file!

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's reassuring to hear from someone who went through the same situation. Did you find it difficult to balance the job search requirements with only looking for part-time work? I'm hoping to find something similar to my previous 25 hours/week position but wasn't sure if NYS Department of Labor would consider that "actively seeking employment" or if they expect you to be open to full-time positions too.
