One suggestion that really helped me - contact ur bank and put a verbal password on ur account that's NOT tied to security questions someone might know. Also check if any address change requests have been submitted for any of ur accounts.
you can contact NY AG's office too - they have a specific division for unemployment fraud now because it got so bad. https://ag.ny.gov/consumer-frauds/Filing-a-Consumer-Complaint
Sounds like u did exactly the right thing! My sister had a similar issue and the state senator route worked. Took about 8 days for her to get a call. the regular unemployment phone number is basically useless these days.
Theres actually a Facebook group called "Help with New York unemployment" with like 50,000 people in it. Lots of success stories from people who went through their reps. You should check it out while waiting.
Thanks, just requested to join!
That group saved my sanity during my unemployment nightmare. so much good info there.
if any1 finds a solution plz update been trying to reach ny unemployment for like 5 weeks straight and now my landlord is threatening eviction ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Whatever you do, ACT FAST!!! The longer these fraudsters collect benefits in your name, the harder it is to fix. Learned this the hard way when someone used my info last year.
Anyone else notice how much identity theft has increased for unemployment specifically? Its gotta be an inside job or a major data breach in the system. Too many people dealing with this same exact issue.

•I think he used 518-457-9378 but double check that on their website to make sure it's current

Same issue. Filed in March, payments stopped in April with no explanation. Called 200+ times. Finally found success with Claimyr last week - they got me connected to an agent who fixed my account in minutes. Whatever they're doing to get through the phone system works. claimyr.com saved me 💯

•It's not a scam if that's what you're asking. They just have a system that calls unemployment constantly until they get through, then they call you and connect you with the agent. You still talk directly to unemployment to fix your issue.
