If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

Missing $550.79 NY unemployment tax refund from July 2021 - help understanding my IRS transcript

Filed my 2020 taxes early last year and got my regular refund in March. When I look at my transcript, I can see that the "Refund issued" of $3,052.00 was processed on 03-18-2021. Then after losing my job and collecting NY unemployment, I had to file an amended return in June because of the unemployment tax break. Got a letter from the IRS around September saying I should be getting an additional refund, but nothing has shown up in my bank account. Looking at my account transcript now and I'm totally confused. Here's what I'm seeing: 290 Additional tax assessed 20201705 05-12-2020 $0.00 766 Credit to your account 04-16-2021 -$2,900.00 846 Refund issued 03-18-2021 $4,052.00 291 Reduced or removed prior tax 07-27-2021 -$547.00 assessed 971 Notice issued 07-27-2021 $0.00 846 Refund issued 07-15-2021 $550.79 776 Interest credited to your account 07-27-2021 -$3.79 This Product Contains Sensitive Taxpayer Data I see a "refund issued" of $550.79 from July 15th and "reduced or removed prior tax assessed" of $547.00 from July 27th, plus some interest of $3.79. Does this mean they already sent the refund? I never received anything in my account. Was the $550.79 supposed to be my unemployment tax break refund? That seems really low compared to what I was expecting. First time dealing with amended returns and unemployment taxes so any help understanding this transcript would be great. Should I be contacting the IRS about the missing refund at this point?

For what its worth, I had EXACTLY the same issue with my NY unemployment tax refund. Check was mailed to wrong address even tho I had direct deposit set up. Took 3 months and 20+ calls to finally get it sorted. The IRS is completely overwhelmed still.

Had to do a payment trace through an IRS agent, prove I never received or cashed the check, then wait for them to reissue. Total nightmare but eventually got the money.

I've dealt with this disaster too 😤 Not sure if anyone mentioned, but you can also contact your local Taxpayer Advocate Service office for help if you're having financial hardship due to not receiving your refund. They can sometimes move things along faster than regular IRS channels.

the taxpayer advocate service is also backlogged by like 6 months rn... but worth a try I guess

True but if you can demonstrate actual hardship (like facing eviction, utilities being shut off) they will prioritize. Just have to be persistent and document everything.

Heres a PROTIP for calling ny unemployment: call exactly at 7:59am and start going through the menu options. if you try at 8:00 or later youll be caller number 5000 in line

This works like 70% of the time. I've had to call them way too many times this year 😔

So I just went through this nightmare last month. NONE of the online stuff works for updating direct deposit - it's all fake functionality. What actually worked was calling and saying the magic words "I need to speak to a CLAIMS SPECIALIST about a PAYMENT ISSUE." Don't mention direct deposit to the first person you talk to or they'll just tell you to use the website. Get transferred to claims specialist and THEN explain the direct deposit problem. Took me 7 calls to figure this out.

Thank you! I'll try this exact phrasing next time I call.

Here's what worked for me when I was in the same situation - I contacted my state assemblyman's office. They have special contacts at unemployment and can often get things moving. My waiver had been sitting for months, and within a week of contacting my assemblyman it was suddenly approved. Worth a try!

Thanks for the suggestion! How do I find out who my assemblyman is?

Zoe Alexopoulos

•

Just google "find my NY state assemblyman" and put in your address. Their office will likely have a form specifically for unemployment issues - they get these requests ALL the time.

literally just got my waiver approval today after waiting since May. No rhyme or reason to their timing. Just gotta wait it out unfortunately.

Fun fact: the ny unemployment computer system still runs on COBOL programming from the 1970s. That's why all these weird rules exist and why things break so easily. They literally can't update it without risking the entire system collapsing. So yeah, don't file a new claim while you have an active one - the ancient computer overlords will not be pleased 😂

100% true. There was a whole article about it during covid when the system kept crashing. They had to call retired COBOL programmers to come fix it because nobody programs in that language anymore!

That is both hilarious and terrifying. Our benefits are literally dependent on ancient technology 🤡

Your boss is probably just following standard procedure for helping employees file during temporary closure. They likely don't realize you're already on unemployment from another job. I'd explain your situation to them and ask if there's any specific documentation they need for their records that doesn't involve you filing a new claim.

Anyone notice that this ALWAYS happens at the end of the month when rent is due? Makes you wonder if it's intentional to reduce how many people they have to pay... 🤔

Put on your tinfoil hats everyone! 👽 (but seriously, it is suspicious

•

Nah its not intentional, just crappy timing. Government systems always run their updates/maintenance at month end because that's how their accounting cycles work.

FYI for everyone - I just spoke with someone (finally got through using claimyr.com after days of trying to call myself). They told me they're aware of widespread payment delays and are working to resolve them. The rep specifically said NOT to keep calling as it's overloading their system and making the backlog worse. They said most delayed payments should process within 72 hours.

Thanks for sharing! Did they tell you what caused the delay in the first place?

They were vague but mentioned something about upgrading security measures and payment processing systems. Reading between the lines, sounds like they rushed out some updates that weren't fully tested.
