If I could give 10 stars I would

If I could give 10 stars I would If I could give 10 stars I would Such an amazing service so needed during the times when EDD almost never picks up Claimyr gets me on the phone with EDD every time without fail faster. A much needed service without Claimyr I would have never received the payment I needed to support me during my postpartum recovery. Thank you so much Claimyr!

Really made a difference

Really made a difference, save me time and energy from going to a local office for making the call.

Worth not wasting your time calling for hours.

Was a bit nervous or untrusting at first, but my calls went thru. First time the wait was a bit long but their customer chat line on their page was helpful and put me at ease that I would receive my call. Today my call dropped because of EDD and Claimyr heard my concern on the same chat and another call was made within the hour.

An incredibly helpful service

An incredibly helpful service! Got me connected to a CA EDD agent without major hassle (outside of EDD's agents dropping calls – which Claimyr has free protection for). If you need to file a new claim and can't do it online, pay the $ to Claimyr to get the process started. Absolutely worth it!

Consistent,frustration free, quality Service.

Used this service a couple times now. Before I'd call 200 times in less than a weak frustrated as can be. But using claimyr with a couple hours of waiting i was on the line with an representative or on hold. Dropped a couple times but each reconnected not long after and was mission accomplished, thanks to Claimyr.

IT WORKS!! Not a scam!

I tried for weeks to get thru to EDD PFL program with no luck. I gave this a try thinking it may be a scam. OMG! It worked and They got thru within an hour and my claim is going to finally get paid!! I upgraded to the $60 call. Best $60 spent!

When I had to deal with this, I actually had better luck contacting my local Taxpayer Advocate Service. They can help with IRS issues when you've tried normal channels without success. For NY, try calling 877-777-4778 to reach the Taxpayer Advocate. They helped me resolve my unemployment tax refund issue when I couldn't get through to the IRS directly. Worth a shot if other methods fail.

Thank you! I didn't even know this service existed. How long did it take for them to help you resolve your issue?

0 coins

It took about 3 weeks from my first contact with them until my refund was processed. They assigned me a specific advocate who handled my case. Make sure you can demonstrate you've tried to resolve through normal channels first - they usually ask for documentation of your attempts to contact the IRS directly.

anybody got their unemployment tax refund yet? been waiting since february and nothing

The IRS is processing these refunds in batches based on filing date and complexity. Simple returns are being processed first. According to the latest IRS statement, they should complete all unemployment tax adjustment refunds by October 2025. You can check your tax transcript online at irs.gov/transcripts to see if an adjustment has been made to your account yet.

Update: I tried that Claimyr service someone mentioned and actually got through to a specialist! They explained my claim was pending because my former employer hadn't responded to their inquiry yet (they have 10 days apparently). The agent put a note to expedite once that deadline passes, which is in 2 days. So relieved to at least know what's happening now! Thanks everyone for your help and commiseration. Will update when/if my status changes.

That's great news! And yes, employers have 10 business days to respond to the claim notice. If they don't respond by the deadline, NYSDOL will typically process the claim based on the information you provided. Make sure you keep certifying each week while waiting!

let us know how it goes! fingers crossed for u

wait are we supposed to be applying to jobs every day?? i thought it was just 3 per week? now im worried

0 coins

No need to worry. The requirement is a minimum of three work search activities per week, not per day. Applying to jobs is just one type of accepted work search activity. Others include attending job fairs, networking events, skills workshops, etc. You can find the full list on the NYSDOL website.

UPDATE: I finally got through!!! Used that Claimyr service someone mentioned, and I was connected to an agent in about 15 minutes. Turns out there was an identity verification flag on my account from when I first applied back in May. The agent was able to clear it and release all my payments! They should be in my account within 3 business days. The agent also explained that weird message about exhausting benefits - apparently there was a glitch in the system that was showing an old claim from someone else with a similar name!!! Can you believe that?? So glad I finally got this sorted out. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions!!

TYPICAL system error!!! Glad you got it resolved but FURIOUS that they make us jump through so many hoops to fix THEIR mistakes!! They should be paying INTEREST on delayed benefits!!

Great news! So glad you got it resolved. This is exactly why speaking with an actual human is so important - the online system just can't handle complex issues. Hope your payments arrive quickly.

my cousin works for unemployment (not in ny tho) and she says they have different ppl with different access levels. so when u call u might get someone who literally CANT help u even if they wanted to. keep calling till u get someone with the right access.

That makes a lot of sense and explains why I'm getting such different answers. I'm definitely going to keep calling until I get someone who actually has the authority to help.

Based on your updates and the advice here, I think you have a good plan going forward. To summarize the best course of action: 1. Call right at 8am when they open 2. Ask for a Tier 2 claims specialist 3. Request a "benefit year-end priority review" 4. Mention that you need a "payment release pending document review" 5. Have all your documentation and previous call details ready If the regular phone method continues to fail, consider using the Claimyr service mentioned above or contacting your state assembly member's office for assistance. The key is persistence without giving up - these systems are unfortunately designed to be difficult to navigate.

Thank you for summarizing everything! This gives me a clear plan for tomorrow. I'll report back with how it goes for anyone else who might be facing the same issue.

Great news! Yes, direct deposit to your regular bank account is typically faster and more reliable. You can make that change in your NY.gov account under payment preferences. Glad it worked out!

So glad it worked out! I switched to direct deposit and haven't had any issues since.
